... you might want to add, that they can only be befriended, but not befriend anyone else first. That should put a stop to the friends requests spam.
I do believe in killing the messenger...
    Want to know why?
    Because it sends a message!

One solution would be to make further restrictions for free accounts.

A free account is an account that never did a purchase of real money in Neverwinter.

Free Accounts can't trade, can't sell items in the auctionhouse and can't send mails.

They also can't send messages in zone and all chat and can onky wisper to people on their friendlist.

i wanna see the population decline when a "free to play" game will require players to spend real life cash on it before they can trade even. others tried it before u know.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but i'm glad that there are botters.

When i see the shitload of Gems required for refining or for stronghold coffer, I am happy to buy 99 rank 4 for 1K5 AD.

But I'm in favor of a solution to make the game less botable, and in the same time cut down the cost of refining or stronghold coffer by HUGE AMOUNT (understand 90% cut down) or give us a real way to farm.

I'm sure that if bots were magically banned, everybody would be upset by buying a 99 rank5 stack at 150K still considering the quantity needed.

Well, mixing Stronghole -cost here makes sense - How guilds can create their Rank20 Guildhall with current cost´s with current playerbase... maybe few hardcore guilds can, but is there game for them left to play because normal players stop repeating daily tasks very soon.

Solution is make bot detection software, it is expensive and maybe it cant be used because game not value that much so then comes other tweaks what allmost allways backfires against players... what ever... small game - big game, bots exist.

I can think of dozens different ways to prevent botting/goldsellers but any of these ideas require an certain amount of investment which is unappealling for PWE.

And yes, i played said game and the free account system didn't prevent the game 100% of them but i saw rarely any bot and an announcement ingame. To be specific i saw 2 bot messages in the server wide chat in my 30+ hours of gameplay.

Fact is that such an entry barrier makes it pretty unappealling for such folks to invest their time and money in a game where said money can simply be lost.

And such entry barrier is a joke for people that play MMORPGs for a long time. And said system should be easy to implement into the game.

They also can't send messages in zone and all chat and can only whisper to people on their friendlist.

To be more to the point on this idea. What they should do is make it so that a F2P player has to be a minimum level on their character, and have all professions minimum level 15 and 3 epic pieces of gear equipped before they can even use mail or trade.
As far as chat is concerned they should have to pay for vip status 20 month non refundable to access chat ability. Oh wait a minute..... Then what would the point of free to play be at that point if you have to spend real money to authenticate a valid account like you have to in Devilian.

Simply put PW and Crip could obviously do what other mmo companies do and the RMT spams and the botting would stop over a year this game has been out and they haven't done what any other company does to prevent these things from going on. I don't think they plan to at this point or it would have been done.

Any developer that codes security in game for this knows how to do it. So why isn't it being done here?

This is why games don't last long on the market.

Maybe they will surprise us and they will put in regulations and code that prevents this type of behavior in the future.

Also be advised you still are responsible for your actions in game so if you partake of the RMT ads and buy from 3rd party web sites you deserve to be banned and have your account stolen.

RMT sites are for cheaters and no mmo needs cheaters.

So I do hope PW and Cript Are watching for those of you that cheat and are removing you and banning your IP address and notifying your isp for violation of TOS in Neverwinter. So that your ISP can internally block never winters login server ip address from their side so u can not ever connect again.

Fair play for all, Cheaters Get Kicked

Now this should be the end of this thread as this thread makes no sense to continue on with the same issue that has been addressed already over and over.

    Time to move on
    Time to close this thread.

The problem with this, and I suspect the reason they haven't been dealt with, is that overall, botters help players through making refining artifacts dirt cheap.

Botters help themselfs and people like you help them to make cash
I NEVER bought AH stacks I collect all myself from opening nodes

I do not have enough fingers to count the number of mythics I have now thanks to botters. I am still here because of them. And I even spent real money buying zen from PWE to finish some upgrades. Bots are cheap labor, nothing wrong with that IMHO. But good luck getting even one mythic by opening nodes. There isn't enough waking hour to farm even one mythic.
If not for the cheap RP on the AH via botters, only hard core players with lots of hrs / wk would ever, EVER reach mythic status on anything. Or Legendary Weapons. And those folks can't support Cryptic/PWI with Real World $$$. That comes from the casual folks like me.

As a casual gamer who treats this game as an after work escape - the loss of the relatively cheap RP would make the game overall a lot less appealing. And I do spend Real Money on occasion (more than I probably should). But only because I get real progress - thanks largely to cheap RP on the AH. I'm not dropping 800 Zen on one stupid Blood Ruby. Ever. Unless 1 Blood Ruby can instantly level me to Mythic/Legendary status. Which would require a massive re-work of the entire NW economy.

Which is why the OP will not be getting his way.

It's sad. I report the bots when I run across them (Blacklake, Drowned Shore, The Chasm), but it seems to take an eternity before anything is done about them. Sure, I can kite green hags to the road along their route and let the AoE catch one out of every ten, but that doesn't really accomplish anything. At this point I'm not sure what does. From what I've observed, the bots can now fight off enemies that go after them, at least some of the time. I hope Cryptic can do something about all the botting, but what I'm seeing is depressing.

Snitch. Judging by the number of posts you've made, you're probably are all loaded out with mythic/legendary. Guess it can be depressing that its hard to pull the ladder up so other people cannot catch up.
