I just got an idea!

A new profession "Mercanilism" where you straight up buy Astral Diamonds with platinum at high levels. Also, you could raise your daily AD refinement amount by XX by bribing Rhix (temporarily) or buy rare, etc. gear comparable to the Trade House stuff that never sold. Furthermore, like trade bars, platinum would be so valuable that it wouldn't be traded (perhaps only at rank 20 Mercantilism. Now, when these Tradesman go on major caravan trips, your leadership could earn you astral diamonds again at high levels. That is my idea.
As confusing as it may sound it really makes sense. Okbye.

As interesting as this idea is, it would never happen because it would cause the devs to loose money. A good portion of AD comes from people exchanging Zen for it. The way to get Zen is to buy it with real money. So they would not implement something in game to take away their cash cow.
