Sword Coast Adventures Tutorial?

So, the sword coast adventures tutorial is supposed to award a companion - the Dog - and 3 of my 4 characters were able to obtain one, but my 4th for some reason never got the tutorial to trigger... is there any way for me to get the companion now?

I'm assuming it's partially because I gave her a purchased companion before she got the ingame quest for a companion...?

    Oh, dang it! I think I posted this in the wrong section.... meant to put it into general discussion. Oops.
