If you are a traditional D@D player then this game will seem nice up until you reach the first quest, called the "Cloak Tower". Well my friends, the programmers have decided to make this game all about random encounters, (remember the d6 Gary Gyxax used for his table), which is not technically D@D. The game was a lot more fun, and I was willing to spend money on it when the content was linear.
When are normal dungeons coming back? This game is called Dungeons and Dragons for reason, that's why Chainmail never worked out.

Take it from a 35-year D&D veteran, son...you know nothing, and gleefully advertise that fact.
The D&D veteran is right. This is supposed to be Dungeons and Dragons. Not Refinement and Dragons, or Random Encounters and Dragons, or (and this one is going to be my personal favorite) Disconnects and Dragons.
I hope that we're seeing a shift in the way that the game is being ran, with story content instead of canned encounters that you have to farm over and over again to refine items slowly.
Oh! Forgot one. Farms and Dragons.
For the record, I do not like the title of this thread. Just sayin. As much as I am unhappy with the way the game is being ran. Ultimately I want things to change for the better, otherwise I wouldnt bother to post my venomous angst on here.

I started in Mod 5 and have been giving them rope through Mod6 all the way through the recent professions changes, and I barely recognize this game a year later. I have been hoping for changes to the better for some time. Right before the LS nerf (leadership one this time!) I thought they had started to improve. This was after they fixed the ArPen bug (created by Mod 6.
But they compulsively seek to nerf and never fill the vacuum. Looking into other titles.

What are you complaining about? They only removed 11 dungeons from the game. We still got 6 dungeons left.

And with the announcement of even MORE Heroic Encounters coming with Underdark... and in existing areas no less... we are again left with NOT GETTING WHAT WE WANT.
Why are the dev's not addressing this? Why do they think we want to run the same tired quests over and over and over? Farm the same Heroic Encounters over and over and over? Mod 8 gets closer every day (you can tell it's coming soon.. the patches have become almost nothing... all effort is going into the new module, not fixing anything that is currently still broken.)
So... I will say it again... WE WANT OUR DUNGEONS BACK... and better still... WE WANT NEW ONES TOO!
I would also like to point out... that when most of us bought into this game (yes... BOUGHT in... either with time, money, or both)... there were 11 dungeons that are not here now. They have been removed, and replaced with an inferior quality product... Heroics. This... is what is known as a "Bait and Switch". It is at the VERY LEAST... unethical.
I see Neverwinter now as having a new name like Breakwinter or Buggywinter. Lost eleven dungeons. You know deep down, they don't care so they won't be back. A skirmish easily missed could've been transmuted into an event but it won't happen. Blacklake Terror This means none of those story arcs will ever get completed. Accomplishments in our journals which were never going to be fixed still have their misleading text there though. Inventory Collections which could of just been added to by all the new stuff instead removes everything we once kept track of even though we can still obtain these items. The list of broken items goes on for infinity. The game obviously is built for power gamers and PvPers. I see PvE in this game as dead roadkill, and the casual gamer as collateral damage.

I am not sure that these new devs have the capability to make anything new, besides HEs, until they prove otherwise. This is a game seemingly developed by LOVERS of D&D... for lovers of D&D. If that is the case, then what is with the hell-bent and mindless destruction of the game?
Someone decided with the onset of M6 that they would remove the content that made the game worthwhile.
I challenge all of Cryptic and WotC to prove that they can do what is right for this game... by listening and turning the clocks back. Words do not mean HAMSTER... as they are meant to persuade and cajole... actions are the ONLY things that matter. Without action... there are ONLY lies.
