10 lockboxes are not nearly enough of a sample size to give real drop percentages. If you got a mount or artifact with 10 keys each time, you are quite lucky.
no where in there did i state thats its a guaranteed mount/artifact per 10 keys. i can remember buying a 10 stack and at least getting an artifact/mount.
meaning first attempt: buy 10 keys=get a mount,
second attempt: get 10 keys= get 1 or 2 tarmalune tradebar jackpots/rhix AD consumables.
attempt 3: get 10 keys= get only blues.
attempt 3: get 10 keys= get an artifact.
and these purchases are made spaced inbetween weeks maybe months.
and i've played since release, so all in all. to me it seems lower. at this point arguing over symantics over my perception of things seems quite redundant, the inclusion of other peoples perception further stabilizes my opinion.
"Past", more then enough Trade Bars from 10-20 lockboxes to get at least 1 Coalescent Ward. "Present", 30 lockboxes and not even close to enough Trade Bars for 1 Coalescent Ward.
"Past", 2 epic mounts and 1 epic artifact from 30+ lockboxes. "Present", only blue junk and not even a handfull of ensorcelled arsenal from close to 150 lockboxes.
Did "we" just suddenly run out of luck?

This is starting to go in circles, guys. If you're not happy with the "value" you're getting out of the lockboxes, then don't buy the keys. And as far as the trade bar thing goes, the Devs have already commented that the drop rate has not changed since VIP was introduced.
"I remember when..." isn't a valid statistical method. And neither is hyperbole about how often stuff dropped.
Also remember that the price of stuff dropping from the lockboxes, especially the rare mounts is dictated by how frequently they dropped. If the drop rate of mounts and artifacts was 1 in 10, you would've seen ridiculously low prices for those items, but you didn't. So keep that in mind...if stuff was dropping "all the time" from these boxes in the past, that stuff wouldn't be very valuable at all.

my average after 40 keys this month is 7 which is not different from before vip. tarma drop rate used to be so high it was impossible to lose money buying keys, you always went positive. always. then they halved the drop rate and graalx3 already stated when. 7 is always the mean. today 3, tomorrow 15, 8,5,3,16 its been months, my mean is always 7.

Before ViP, i allways opened 10 lockboxes all in one. Sometimes i got just enough Trade Bars for a Coalescent Ward, sometimes i needed another 10 lockboxes. But at 20 lockboxes, i had enough Trade Bars for one Coalescent Ward. I sold the loot from the lockboxes and the lesser enchantment, that i created with that Coalescent Ward, to finance my next round of lockbox keys. I wasn't swimming in AD, but it was a well working "system"...
With ViP, i'm looking at 156 Trade Bars for this month.
And maybe i'm wrong, but i think i remember a lot more admin messages in game, when the Elemental Evil lockbox was released, then when the Crushing Waves lockbox had it's debut...
I got that epic artifact from the Elemental Evil lockbox right at the first day, and traded it directly for 17 GMoPs... sold all of them within the hour over the AH. The two mounts followed shortly, sold them directly too, and i was looking at over 90 lockbox keys waiting for the Crushing Waves lockbox... and i only got junk from those.
Anyway, the Howling Hatred lockbox might be coming this week, maybe i will have more luck with them.
These forums never cease to entertain. The keys are the exact same item. The lockboxes differ in their rates. The fact that some people here think that a few samples of a large distribution prove anything is exactly why crazy conspiracy theories exist (which are also entertaining).
I opened 3 of the new lockboxes and ended up with 186 TBs. Bought 3 more keys and hit exactly 199 TBs. Waited for the next day to get another key, and finally reached 206 TBs.
Now i'm going to save the daily keys until i have at least 10 for the next round.

It's kind of dumb too because the value of the jackpot has dropped pretty hard given that a lesser enchant is only worth ~200-210k now. A jackpot used to be worth somewhere around that much by itself.
Could even be looking at coal wards not being the best thing in the shop after the rework.
I went my first month without hitting jackpot and still got enough for a Coal ward. This month I've hit two and thus far (including my first month) Have gotten 4 Coal wards bought. I'm pretty sure it's just luck guys. :S
Before vip, my average trade bar gain was 11 for 1 key except for Silvery Dragon Scale boxes ( 4 for 1 key ). Now it's 7 for 1 key. But i noticed a good increase of r7 enchants gain.
