Questions about Elemental Evil from an Xbox player

So I spent a decent amount of time in the Drowned shore thus far, and it seems as though that there really is no story line after the first mission or 2.

It seems as if Every single quest is a repeatable quest, directing me to do the same exact things and enter the same mini dungeon instances over and over.

Questions:

Will it be like this for the other new world area's? as in, is this the same type of template I should be looking forward too on my way to 70 and if so, are there better quests to accept then others?

I've had a friend say that it's almost not worth visiting the other areas because the amount of XP you get for each repeatable mission is pretty much the same.

Also: How exactly do I start the Icewindale campaign? I tried at 60 and it was red so I don't think I could travel there.

Yes, missions work the same way on the other areas. But you need to complete the last zone to get an artifact weapon (dont remember at this moment if it is the offhand or the main hand). The other one you get just by becoming lvl 70.

On PC, right now, Icewind, Sharandar, Dread Ring and Well of Dragons are lvl 70 zones, and new characters can't enter before.

There is a storyline, I payed no attention to, but it's there if it interests you and Im sure since its DnD its probably decent.

Yes the zones are pretty much the same as far as the progression goes. Do x amount of repeatables, repeat, move on to next npc, repeat. You'll still want to do the quests just for the purpose of leveling up the character, but also the spinward rise questline gives you the EE Artifact Mainhand. There are "better" quests than others, just ones that grant a bit more XP or are a bit less time required to complete.

IWD I think is lvl 70 now. You used to talk to a NPC in PE that granted you access. I do not know though, I stopped progressing all other characters but my main once MoD6 started, cause they made it much more diffcult to manage/maintain multi characters.

Thanks for the help. So can you tell me if it's worth going through the other leveling zones to level up? (Do the repeatable quests offer more XP?) OR just farm Drown Shores until 68-70ish, skip the others and complete spinward rise for the artifact?

well if you stay in drowned shores till 68-70 when you hit 70 you will have days and days of quests you could have already had done before you get your artifact weapon
