Isent a new expansions supposed to bring new content?

Some of you may argue that Strongholds is new content, but for me its just new ways to spend AD. Nothing really has changed.

Every mod is more AD spent required and less ways to earn AD. By the end of the day, the only change for me is that i need to spent a bucket load of AD.

All of that would be fine, if there actually was a new dungeon or skirmrish (at least!). But as far as i cant tell, the last mods have been no new content besides "tiamat" which is just another heroic enocouter that is pretty much unplayable.

Im not trying to bash or anything, its just that, im really tired of the "AD sinks", yes this is the new name for a Module. Because it brings me nothing good. As a said by the end of the day, i just have to spend a bucket load of AD and RP refining new stuff, doing the same old same old.

Berz, you're 100% correct. New content means new areas, no monsters, etc. Not the same freakin areas over and over. New content should be at least that, new, enjoyable, etc. This is just a polished HAMSTER that they're trying to tell us is a 12 carat diamond. What NWO has done is create a never ending grindfest that you can only get through by spending real money. Regarding the constant AD sink, you're also correct in that. It shouldn't require millions and millions of AD to refine 1 piece of anything (or enchant) to level 12, nor should it take those who don't spend money so long that their grandchildren will be playing by the time they ever get that enchant to trans status. This is a game, not a job. When ANY game becomes less fun than my job, or I choose to have a root canal rather than playing the game, it's not sad, it's pathetic, and a game ender, for me at least.

They just gave us the biggest map in the game, with new monsters, new heroic encounters, new loot, new goals to work towards achieving. The dungeons are coming back, but they need time to fix them. Now that Strongholds is out of the way, I think they have a bit more time to focus on getting the dungeons ready before (or while) focusing on Mod 8, Underdark, which I'm super excited for.

This complaint gets used a lot in mmo's. If it's content I'm not interested in it's not "real" content. I'd love a new dungeon, but I won't argue against SH's either. The fact is that this is giving guilds a lot more to do together to work as a team for a common goal. That's a good thing. Now we just need the old dungeons back soon. Hopefully after the crashing problem that's the next thing on the dev's plate.

Yes, if I can ever get in, maybe I'll be able to see this new biggest map in the game, new monsters, etc. However, I've heard others say they're not new, but recycled. And SH is great, so I hear, for large guilds, but small guilds will be penalized and be unable to complete all content, like the heroics/dragons. So you created content that requires even more grinding, while once again penalizing those who like to play solo or with only a few of their friends, not join a large guild where you have to deal with so much drama, and stupidity (I was in 2 of those, so created my own). My guild only has 6 people (and all of their toons). We live in different time zones so only 2-3 of us are usually on at any one time. We don't want to add strangers who may bring drama into the guild, let alone personality conflicts, in-fighting, etc. So guess we won't ever get to do those dragons, or get the new BiS armor.

Content should be available for everyone to enjoy. If it's for guilds, it should be doable by ANY guild, not just those which can have 10+ people on at the same time.

I'm sorry Kreatyve, but you also missed the actual point, which is the game is no longer enjoyable, a big part of that is due to the insane amount of bugs that have been around forever, the incessant amount of grinding, the game balance issues, and not the least of which is how much AD and RP you have to burn through in order to just try and be competitive. Throw in the fact that Cryptic has also made it so only 1 path per class can actually play the game makes it worse. Here's an example: Archer HR. He's been parked since Mod 6, unable to survive (even with all blue level 70 gear), even when paired up with my wife's level 70 GWF (also in all blue lvl 70 gear). We're both long time gamers, and have played every type of class possible. We had no issues, until Mod 6. We have all our boons, except final 2 in WoD, at least level 8-9 enchants, 2 of our artifact equips are purple, and 3 out of 4 artifacts are also purple. We both have an IL of over 2200, yet because our paths are not what Cryptic coded to be useable in Mod 6, we get slaughtered. Same happens with my level 70 GWF and her 70 SW. My level 70 CW and her level 70 Archery HR don't last at all. My level 70 SW, and her 70 CW, same same. So that's 4 out of 5 toons for each of us that are unable to play, unless we re-do our toons to different paths. So, why bother having those other paths if you can't survive let alone enjoy playing the game, if you choose them?

It used to be you could level up and enjoy the game regardless of path, allowing for a much broader range of people and strategies needed to play, especially in pvp. That is no longer the case.

So if the game's internals are broken, does it really matter what "new" maps/content there is if you can't survive to play them? Not to mention if you can't even get into the game at all because the mechanics are broken so badly? I didn't think so.

magenubbie, it's difficult to enjoy anything since I can't even get in. As to staying on topic I was responding to a community moderator who ignored what the OP said for the most part, trying to act like all the new content and biggest map yet (I'll believe it when I see it, oh wait, I can't) makes up for the bugs, crashes, AD sink. And as he stated, SH is not really new content just a bigger AD sink and as I said a grindfest to build the SH (from what I read, and even some of that is broken).

No one disagreed that it wasn't content, whether or not it's new, we'll see. However, I also don't consider adding Elemental Evil as much new content, considering that many of the little mini dungeons were just picked up from other areas and dropped in place.

At first, I wandered around the Stronghold map, and was like "meh". After I rounded up some guildmates, and we started to do sweeps of the various HEs, and eventually got a marketplace, the zone kind of took on a whole other life. Yes, there are many familiar mobs there, but "new content" need not preclude reusing old enemies - the map is new, there's new gear, consumables, and so on.

Well, when it comes to the Epic Failure of recent Mods in terms of content, i always get the feeling, that it is the same, as it is at many RL big companies around the world, the lower ranked employees feel the stress, but are afraid to tell the suits, cause they fear for thir job and the suits don't even know, what they are selling 99% of the time, they only care about their small world.

We can clearly see and hear from Andy, that he talks about the missing content, like Dungeons at every week's meeting, but as it seems, suits and Devs don't give much about his opinion. They really should tho, cause he is in closest touch with us customers/players, but hey world works like this at many places, not only Cryptic is affected by this illness of suit negligence.

My second point, those who say we have all new content are either fresh players, fanboys or employees, who are dependent and if they really would state their opinions, would lose their job insantely.

Of course at every company the long term absence from reality aka the customers will pay dividence, sooner or later, unless one can control the entire market and people/customers have no choice to choose from.

Let's take a look at the so called new content:

    1. Map, comes froma MOBA game, no wonder, that even Cryptic advertises the new Mod as a MOBA style game play. The same map is currently used in 6 or 7 games, maybe even more.

    2. The Monsters, well we elder players can remember the old and really cool dungeons, i for instance have seen those orcs somewhere. The other Monsters, like the wolves come from leveling Maps. Ok let's take a look at dragons. Poor Mad Dragon aka Chartraxis aka many others is now so many times recycled, that i don't even count anymore.

Adding new skins, sometimes a new voice or adjusting hight, doesn't make anything new, besides that the quests the NPCs give direct us back to maps, like DR, Sharandar and the few remaining, but utterly bugged dungeons.

My honest question, where is here the new stuff?

Game was fine until about Mod 3, one could really feel the artistic creativity, since Mod 4 a huge fall in every aspect, but i personally was ok with it and i think many others too, since we had all the existing content and got a bit on top of it, being only a small part, but it worked- most parts anyway- and it was FUN. Now since Mod 6 we got hammered into our heads the word NEW, but as much as i see i can't catch that NEW. Sadly Mod 7 kept the NEW trend, new in zero, everything being there was there before in the game, just in different ways.

My personal hopes lie in Mod 8: Underdark, but if Underdsark will continue the trend of Mod 6 and 7 with recycling everything and keeping us "entertained" only with endless grind and no lore, no storyline, no real new content, than i fear game has played it's last card.

    Underdark takes us to Menzoberranzan.

Except recycled content from Gauntlygrym and Whispering Caverns. Lots of drow, maybe illithids. They'll likely be tossing in some demons, seeing as how that's apparently the whole plot line. Except to fight some Balors, instead of Pit Fiends, for once.
