Cull the Tiamat Campfire AFKers

cybergutscyberguts Member Posts: 141 Arc User
I've ran many Tiamats now, with several being sabotaged by the Campfire AFKers.

Many of these were on the FIRST Cleric wave with still a decent amount of time to complete (and due to these white has Nat's HAMSTER of health left before failure).

Is there no way to cull these AFKers? Or simply just revoke their rewards at the end win or lose due to them not providing help?

Good point, I don't know why these people even bother entering the temple if they have absolutely no intention of helping everyone who is really trying to defeat Tiamat.

Apparently, they have those controllers where you need to run around the block in conjunction with the dps output. So, they are tired.

Afaik there is a system in place for afk players to not receive a reward..

I had a really bad run over the weekend, I think half the players left or got dc'd, by the end of the second clerics run only one head was on 25%. I died and released 7 times, when I went down for the 8th time with 3 mins remaining on the fight I decided I would wait at the campfire for my injury to go rather than waste another injury kit... The fight ended and I got zero reward. Since then I always go back to the fight, regardless of how hopeless it is, as at least there's a chance of a dragon egg.

I also frequently see players in an instance spamming 'we've failed' or 'we've lost' etc. if the red head is not down to half health after the first run... They need to realise that half health on red is the ideal scenario, not the requirement for completion :/ Frequently runs complete, with time to spare, after the dps seemed a little lackluster on the first head phase.

I've stopped fighting on first cleric wave after 10 minutes, 10+ deaths, and seeing how people were playing. I typically wait to see if it's just a DPS heavy team that simply is lacking classes to protect the clerics.

You can usually tell right away if it'll be a successful run.

    .....

Very true, BUT that doesn't give you reason to sit by the campfire because you died 10+ times.... You sitting there will have a knock-on affect meaning other people will see you doing feck all; then they will do the same....
The cycle begins.... Resulting in 8-10 people just standing there AFTER the 10mins you stated you helped.

This means, people like me now will keep on trying and attempt to do my best with lesser and lesser people doing THEIR jobs because of simply "meh... I died... I'll just sit here now" mentality YOU have!

Don't like it, then just leave the instance by the door; NOT sit by the fire thus causing the above!

It will probably take a while on the XB One for people to realize exactly what to do, and to realize when their class and spec aren't enough even when they're doing the correct thing. Like yesterday once, where everything looked well until the zerg on black displayed we didn't have enough DPS, barely got to green before 1st round over. Part of exactly what to do includes that if there aren't 25 actually working at it, the chances of success are about none. If the gems aren't used, not much damage because zergers are dead. Fighting on top of the npc clerics takes them a long while to come up if there's not enough damage to remove the mobs quickly.

Had this problem last night a lot of the 16-18k guys just bailed when the first head was down to 10% and sat at the campfire slagging folk off in chat.
Basically beginning to think they are deliberately sabotaging the runs to force those with less than 13K GS to stay out, some of those doing this are unquestionably boot and looters from my encounters in dungeons with them.
Last night in one run 13 people just camped out after the first head came down and before the cleric run kicked off.
Failure is inevitable in those circumstances.

Frankly this behavior will eventually kill both this game and this genre on XBONE imho!
I have friends playing Witcher and the reports are that that game does not seem to have the community problems we are seeing on this (never played it myself), whether the devs do anything or not over this (if they even can) I have no idea, however something needs to change pretty damned quick or when the new releases come out all there will be in Neverwinter will be tumbleweed!

    Just my two cents

Same instance this morning where it was the 3rd round and we beat all heads except one, who only had like 2% health. We still had 5 min to go and 10 people decided they didn't want to play. Instead chat out profanity and calling everyone noobs . So as the timer was going down I decided to inspect these HAMSTER. All under 12k gs. Calling me a freaking noob and I was in 2nd place.

So basically what I'm saying is people are just immature HAMSTER either way you look at it. Hi gs, low gs, it doesnt matter. Wheb it comes down to the end of the day, you either loose because of lack of method, poor dps, poor builds or way to many low end no geared people. People get salty when they don't win and react like this. It just shows how many whiny people their are out there.

If you check a lot of the 10k-11k players out they have a complete mismatch of armour, 4 different things on. The don't seem to realise that you need 2 pairs or 4 of a set to get the bonus stats etc. This just makes it difficult for everyone who has actually done some research and spent time on their builds as we're basically carrying those that havn't.

Last night while attempting Tiamat before I turned in for the night (9:00pmCST hour) after the first wave on the heads I noticed that there were far fewer people helping Clerics than usual. I looked across the battlefield and there were about 2-3 people at each Cleric. I went up to the campfire to notice a crowd just standing there. I did take a screen shot of all the players standing there and inspected a few. The range of GS was not consistent so it was pretty much all ranges. But to quit after the first wave is just unacceptable let alone to just stand in the campfire like a tool.

My wife and son seem to both always get the best groups as they have around 20 kills each for Tiamat and both have multiple off hand artifact drops etc. I, however, have only killed Tiamat 1 time in around 10 attempts.

5 times someone glitched the black dragon and the other 4 times people quit early or stood in the campfire. Very frustrating but its the luck of the draw I suppose on a mechanic that puts people randomly in instances together.
