Tiamat: Joining with group and higher gs requirements

kamikalzekamikalze Member Posts: 37 Arc User
Hello people,

this is a serious issue, that needs to be addressed. On PC it is possible to join the same raid with predetermined groups of YOUR choice. Why can't we on Xbox have that option ? Why are we forced to play with people, that try to swim with the flow and hope for a glimpse of linus favor, but are not doing anything in return.
Of course there are people with 12k gs and play as well, as if they would have 20k, but let's be honest, that's only a few.
Why do I form a guild or a party, if I am forced to join in the same second and still don't have a 100% chance to play with them? That makes the whole concept of a guild absolutely obsolete.
The other suggestion would be to raise the Gearscore cap to 14k. That way you have at least T2 gear and some good enchantments to survive a while.
Last, but not least important is the problem with lag while DC's use their astral shield. There is no way around this issue on the player side, so please do something about this as well.

Thanks in advance :)

I'm sorry, but you are mistaken. On PC is it NOT possible to enter with pre-determined groups of your choice. It NEVER has been. The best way to do it is to set a certain time (generally closer to the 5 minute mark right now) and try to have as many of your friends go in at the same time. On PC, there are not nearly as many people still doing Tiamat, so that makes it easier for going in at a set time to get you in with your friends.

They made Tiamat the way it is, they wanted to let the community interact with more then just their guildies/friends. They have done a very good job of it, all it takes is a little planning and a little studying up on it. In order to ace it. Also your statement about guilds being obsolete is false, they have a bigger role than you can see now trust me on that. Also the lag, do a hard reset of your xbox, or it is your connection, only time i have lag is when there is multiples things running on the xbox, doing a hard reset fixes that and you should have no problems. Every Tiamat i have done, the DC's astral shield does not/has not cause any lag.
Thank and have a nice day :)

It's certainly not my Internet connection, and I hard reset my xbox often for this exact reason. The lag on the dragons right now is awful. Damage is not registering, and while I can't say it's completely due to AS, the groups I've been in where it wasn't used, the lag wasn't nearly as bad.

There is still work to be done. I hope arc takes this feedback seriously. If people could get similar game play to pc neverwinter, arc would see more people on on a regular basis which means more money.

You are right, I know that guilds are not obsolete (Stronghold etc.), but when you don't have the chance to go in with your group, why have one? This concept as it is played right now, just doesn't work proper with guilds or groups. That's why it is obsolete for this certain instance, which is sad. Even though I know, there will be much more guild stuff in the future ;)

I have to admit, I didn't play NW on PC and my misconception comes from youtube videos, where people joined and complete groups were together in one instance. Of course does it makes sense, if less people play, there is a bigger chance of getting together :)

It's a lot easier for your whole group to get in the same instance when there are less than 10 instances running it total, vs. the probably over 100 instances that are running right now on Xbox.

My top complaint with Tiamat is not the low gearscore players that may cause a failure, although that is very annoying.

The #1 issue with the Tiamat raid is not having the ability to play with your friends. The reason I am playing Neverwinter instead of (enter single player game here) is to play with a group of friends. Instead, we are chatting in an Xbox party about different instances of the same encounter.

I understand not allowing more than one group to form a "raid" in order to encourage the community to work together, but one group of up to 5 should be able to enter Tiamat together.

I have been trying to figure out the thought behind this mechanic as well. I wonder if it is a fear of not having full instances? If it is completely random all instances will be filled as needed. Although we as the players may not see or understand the thought behind this, I am sure somewhere someone was crunching numbers and thought this to be the best course of action. I would love for a developers insights about it though. Could a Mod ask them to enlighten us on the reason behind no premade groups for Tiamat? Unless somewhere its already published. I looked but didn't see it anywhere.
