Dungeons - Class roles not being filled with same class role after leaving

In the latest patch notes there is this line:

'An in-progress instance now respects roles when trying to fill new players. If you’re missing a healer, you’ll get a healer'

Well that is not working from what I have seen. Ran a few dungeons and I have seen a cleric leave and his slot got filled by a Rogue, last time I looked a Rogue was a DPS not a healer.

Another one last night was a GF got disconnected and left and that role was filled with a GWF, sorry but a GWF is a DPS class

So yeah with this and the stupid loot window changes now I am just wondering if possibly the updates do go through some QC before they get released or is it a case of stuff it lets just release the patch to shut them up.

I think the system itself is a little misleading - For example some classes that the public thinks are this or that actually have a spec that puts them into another category. Example is the GWF. Don't they have a "tanky" path option? Another example is Scourge Warlocks as Healers. And one last example are DPS Clerics. In a game that gives multiple options for trees or paths to design your character its hard to label a class as "That's a DPS only" or "That's a Healer". Thus making a mechanic that replaces with "like for like" class types difficult. To sum up what I mean is if that GWF had perks in the Tanky tree the game may look at him as a Tank for whatever reason and thus put him in that slot.

That wouldn't be so bad, the problem is it's not respecting roles at all. It's throwing random classes in for random roles whether they spec'd into that path or not. Rogues aren't able to tank or heal yet they replace tanks and healers just like it did before the update.

The only noticable effect of the new system is super long wait times for the que to pop. We never really aim for any class and que with three or four and just sit around waiting.

Cryptic made City of Heroes, maybe they could take a play out of thier own book for LFG flag and search function and allow me to see ten whatever class who have the flag up for grouping that I can send a tell to. Being subjuct to a random match using the current system is not working.

I still que up with randoms and still see tons of double classes, 2 rogues, 2 clerics, 2 wizards etc etc.... Totally thought it was supposed to spread people out.
If you can't beat 'em, arrange to have them beaten.

one of the things I like best about NW is the fact that technically it instances be done with most combinations. You don't "need" the holy trinity (tank/heal/dps) to complete the instances. Don't get me wrong, they can be made easier with the holy trinity, and certainly healer/dps combo works better than 5 dps or tank/dps,
One of the issues of another popular mmo is that some roles are scarce, making queues super long. This method gets you into the action quicker, and means sometimes you have to play a little differently to complete stuff.

Tanks and healers aren't too scarce in this game. I play both a tank as my main and a healer as my alt and I rarely get thrown into a dungeon that doesn't already have my class in it. Sometimes 5 or 6 times in a row I'll get a different dungeon with a different group that already has a tank in it. Instead of respecting the roles it's like its purposefully duplicating them.
