Android and Hologram playable character species.

I would very much love to see this both added as full species.
With Androids, between Data, 0718, the droid crewpeople on DIS, the in game 23c droids, and the LTS droids, there is more than enough justification to include them.

And with Solanae, Iconian, Jem'hadar tech and the cross tech that they spawn, it could be possible for the Alliance to recreate the mobile emitter.

Maybe one day, we could see a discovery, or tos android but never the soong models as Cbs wants to keep Data Unique. Same reason why we will not see Playable Kelpians with age of Discovery with the discovery faction. As for Holograms I don't think Cbs would ever allow those. Holograms would need the Mobile Emitter and canonically its from the far future so it makes sense why we don't see them as playable. Maybe one day in the star trek shows something will change that will allow them to open up for the android thing but they will most likely never budge on the playable holograms or Soong Androids. Maybe we could see an a playable Airiam model which is more of a synthetic android but that might be the only android option we will might be able to get. Maybe Mudd Androids could be an option for 25th century. Would totally like to see a Harry Mudd Android, Bridge Officer. But we will not see Soong Model androids with current cbs leadership. That is one of the things they did say no on. Including Holograms, I guess jumping through the booth in quarks onto the promenade , which is strange among other things. Is Something Cbs will not allow either. Which is why you have the invisible wall preventing it. Tested it last night.

Meant more of an expanded 700 vet base model. Use that as a jumping off point, maybe mix that with some 0718 and whatever Discovery's are.

Maybe they could do something like that, they did it for the two cat races. Which are based on a tos animated race they couldn't use. Maybe more of a synthetic android. That isn't data, but based on various different androids we have saw on the different shows. I don't think we will see a playable 718 but maybe a prime universe version of it could be in fact Airmians Model. Which might be doable. Which would be the perfect android type for them to add in. All they would need is cbs's approval. Why becaue 718 is Kelvin timeline. Which is basically its own canon. Done by jj I'm not sure if Cbs owns any of the jj movie things, or the 718 dirrectly. We did get to see 718 and the jj connie in one temporal mission and a 718 bridge officer promotional thing Sad it can only be used on federation characters. Cbs does own the rights to all the prime startrek. While movie rights remain with Paramount.

I hate to break it to you, but CBS in the past put a veto on doing any sort of playable androids, back when there were talks about making boffs playable. I don't exactly know the reason, but it could be because they would be far better than any other playable species, if that makes sense.

I doubtful they can be better at everything, given there is already far more better bridge officers I think then the bridge officer andriods. Basically they just have a passive that allows them to reboot once and I think better resistances to damage on Ground. Not sure their space traits. But the better space traits are romulans and jem hadar from what I know. Airiman whatever she is might be the best substitute and only one we might be able to get. So Door is still open to them and that depends on Cbs. But I think she is more like a cybernetic creature, then a full on andriod given what they have described of her. So more like aliens synthetic androids. Or a human who has been augmented by technology. One of the two.

With no backstory given in ID, I assumed 0718 was a guy who got kidnaped by V'ger in the KT and Kirk rescued him. He looks vaguely Deltan.

Once again... CBS Veto'd Androids. Not "Soong Type Androids". Therefor no Android characters of ANY type are going to be a thing. Closest you'll get is either Liberated Borg or Alien Mockups.

sorry for the necro but Star Trek Picard introduced more soong type androids, so now it's doable to have them as playable captains.

Bad Necro.....But until you personally persuade CBS, it ain't happening.

AAAAAAAAND, those androids wanted independance. There's nothing that says they joined the Federation, nevermined Starfleet.

AAAAAAAAND, the Federation had a COMPLETE BAN on the development of Androids, so it's not likely they'll reverse this without severe limitations on their behaviours, as we know they can kill out of malice!

You should read the Executive Board Meeting Minutes when Moonves and the Directors when at it leading up to the Veto.

As many here have repeatedly and repeatedly pointed out (when we talk about everyone running around as Fleet Admirals) we are alone, there are no other Characters. If that is the case we would, by definition, be unique.
