{PS4} Lifetime Membership/Subscription

poseidon#9721 poseidon Member Posts: 89 Arc User
Do you have a Lifetime Membership/Subscription (PS4)?
Are you completely 100% satisfied with the membership?
Do you feel there could be more benefits to having the membership?
Because of logistics/legality PS4 doesn't get Zen. Okay. How about 50,000 - 250,000 Dilithium (Refined would be nice).
In addition to the Liberated Borg Character and Starfleet Android BOff,
{Per Character (Any Faction)} - 1 Epic and 2 Ultra Rare BOff of your choice (Male/Female, Any Species),
(Making. BOffs be able to increase in rarity would be nice in general)

Yes I'm Greedy, but if you don't ask for everything, you won't get anything.

Do you have Lifetime?
Are you satisfied? / Would you like to see more? and What would you like included with your membership?

Please no hate coments, just Yes, I'm Completely Happy / No, I would like...

The list price of the LTS on XBox1 and PS4 is $100 cheaper than on PC because of the lack of monthly zen.

Go ahead and ask for a space pony, but Cryptic doesn't seem to be in any hurry to add new goodies to the LTS.

Doesn't quite seem like a fair trade. Especially when you pretty much have to buy Zen. I've paid for the LTS 3 times over, because I bought Zen. Sure, you can use Dilithium to buy (trade for) Zen, but you need a lot of it. So, do you advance in rank in your fleet, buy a fleet ship or trade for Zen? You need Dil for some DOff projects and Reputation Projects. Some Rep Project need 30,000 Dil. Right now the exchange rate is almost 300 to 1. You need 150,000 Dilithium to exchange for 500 Zen. PC in 4 months that's a free ship. It could take twice as long on console. On console it is more difficult to buy from the C-Store because it takes so long to grind Zen. People need shiny things to distract us.

There comes a time (unless you're a millionaire) when you have to stop spending money on certain things. (i.e. Video Games)

    No.....just no.

For a start the Dil exchange on Consoles MAKES IT EASIER to grind out a ship than it does on PC. It is 400+ on PC!

The ONLY thing not included on Console LTS is the Zen Stipend, and you can purchase it in the C-Store. You cannot purchase LTS on the PC on the C-Store you can only buy it with cash. So with the $100 discount on Console, this is more than fair and LEGAL!

I've had lifetime membership in the past on the PC, and I agree think there should be more unique stuff in it.

Nothing game-breaking of course, but another unique species with a nice trait (yes, something like the Caitians have, something you actually notice while playing the game) would be cool to have.

As for the PS4 version of the game: it's definitely worse than the PC game. That's partly due to how consoles are designed and how user unfriendly they are (they're just TRIBBLE compared to having a full keyboard and a mouse), but also partly due to this game clearly being designed for PC originally.

I wouldn't buy lifetime membership for the console version of the game. But that's largely due to my experience with the PS4 version and the fact that I had grown used to the PC game, having played that for years before I bought the PS4.

In the livestream with the EP a couple of weeks ago, it was mentioned that there are already plans to add things to LTS.

That will be nice, especially if we get our Jem'Hadar escort and captain's gig.

However, anyone buying today should only do it if you're happy with what you get now, since there's no guarantee Cryptic will add anything new that you care about.

Sorry I don't know how to get the cool little box.

    1. You're right. It is possible to get LTS for free with Dil. to Zen trade. The non-sale price of LTS is 25,000 Zen. At a rate of 200 Dil per Zen (Current Trade is higher), you would need 5,000,000 Dilithium. Free players can refine up to 8,000 Dilithium per day. It would take 625 Days for one character. That's 1 year & 8.5 months. I've heard you can transfer Dil to other characters. I don't know if they intentionally did that or if that's a mistake they will catch and stop. If you can transfer Dil and you had 5 characters, it would take 125 days (8000X5) to accumulate enough Zen to get a free Subscription. I'm not sure it's possible to grind 40,000 Dil per day.

    2. Single ships in the C-Store on PS4 start at 500 Zen and go up to 3000 Zen. At 200 Dil per Zen, you would need 100,000 Zen for a single ship. It would take 13 Days for 1 character. 75 Days for more expensive ships. So, I was wrong there. I apologize.

    3. Is there not a Dilithium exchange on PC? Or is it 400 Dil = 1 Zen? If it's 400 to 1, it would take 200,000 Dil to get 500 Zen. It would take one character 25 Days for a 500 Zen ship. If one day console Dil to Zen reaches 400 to 1. Then PCs would have it better. As of right now, though, I still think PCs have it good. PC games don't have to grind Dil if they don't want to. You have a grind option, a purchase option, and a sit back and do nothing, which is not really an option because you get just get it.

I no longer think it's unfair, but it is not more than fair. Also, I never said it was ILLEGAL! If players on console want a free ship there is no choice but to grind dil. With LTS PC can just wait. If you don't want to play for a while you still get Zen, If I don't play for a while I get nothing. If we are talking no LTS. You're right it would take twice as long on PC. Console exchange rates are on the rise.

It would just be nice if they would give Lifetime Subscribers something extra from time to time.

    Thank you BaddMoonRizin
I did not get to hear the livestream.
Will people who already have the LTS get the additional content?
Other subscriptions you only get new stuff if you are a new member.
I hope the STO community is not angry with my post.

For the first 20 months, the 500 zen stipend PC players get just goes towards covering the extra $100 that we paid. Or about this much time:

What bothers me about the life time subcription, is they are very unfriendly to those that rather not give their information online or don't have a debt or credit card which I'm the latter. For one can't use steam wallet to buy the subcription. Would I like to see a zen store live time sub yes like the consoles. Maybe have it where it doesn't have the monthy zen. I can live without it. But an option for all players to get it. Like the consoles actually I think would rake them in so much money. Especially if they start updating it. What Bothers me even more is they don't allow their arc gift cards to be used for the lifetime or the subcription when they had that running. It bugs me that they have not made it for zen store on pc. Or add in a option to buy from the arc wallet or arc gift cards from their website. Arc needs updating, the way we can purchase things needs updating. One way or another I should be able to get it without a debt or credit card. Even if they make the price far higher on the zen market. Then it is out of game. Just give us the option. That is all I am asking allow us to be able to get the borg races and outfits. Which I do want to get but just cannot get them because of their limitations.

Ya I have the LTS on XBOX and it's value was clearly apparent when I began playing. I did read somewhere online that the LTS gets updated retro-actively as the Devs find interesting things to add to it. -- which is appreciated.

As for the Zen. I actually didn't realise that it was different for different platforms, until after I bought it. However, it wasn't a major selling point in the description for me anyway. The extra refining ability, slots and cap-lifting was. Since getting it, you can add the vet ships to that too. They are superb, especially the Manticore and Duvqu' (needs Pilot controls btw devs *unsubtle hint* 😉 ).

"Mores always good" as they say; but I'm not dissatisfied with the LTS. I'd much rather the Devs and marketing people knuckle down and come up with unique additions towards it than just filler from general stock of options.

It's not worth debating upon tne business practices between all these different parties (believe me, it's a real rabbit warren!). I'm all-for every platform getting some luv. Whatever keeps the wheel turning, is ok by me.

Yeah, the console LTS is better and they should sell it on the PC too.

Yes, @poseidon#9721 , anything Cryptic adds to the LTS will be retroactive to those who already have it.
