Disappearing Borg cubes in alerts

Just evasived in behind a Tholian Tarantula in a red alert and got popped from full strength - 100k damage from a cube core breach. What cube, I have to ask?
Borg cubes have been turning invisible before the core breach for a long time now. Red alerts are the easiest source of marks, and the go to for newer toons not ready for advanced stuff yet. Wouldn't it make a little sense to pay some attention to them, especially now that you're making people wait for weeks to run them and making a big event out of it?
