hmmm what is Klingon for "can you believe they PROMOTED ME??"

I would use: munumta' jay', semiliterally "they promoted me WTF?" (jay' is an "intensifier")

What is the verb prefix "me-"? num = promote -ta' = action completed

I can't seem to find me- listed as a verb prefix. I may have not reached that part of my lessons on DuoLingo. But it is not translating well, either.

    Which translator are you using?

I agree, that the Klingon would not use so many words to get ideas across....so shortening it to "They promoted me? WTF" sounds more Klingonese.

Missing the -'a' in there somewhere.
This verb suffix makes anything an inquiry...I already learned that one in one of my lessons.

    munumta''a' jay'

Note: in Klingonese ' is a letter. So -ta' next to 'a' is not a quotation marks, it is 2 of the letter ' next to each other.

Or if the original be changed even more: numta''a' jIH jay'
Which is closer to: "I am promoted? WTF!"

(I just learned that jIH wonder if that is correct usage?)

I am not sure if they will be teaching cursing/cussing on Duolingo. LOL! I am going to say: probably not.

There is one thing Duolingo is helping me with...is sentence structure.
Everything is about reading, right now...since there is no audio, yet.

Though I am slow with vocabulary (I need constant repetition of words) and until audio get added to the Klingon course, I am not going to "get" how these words sound. If I decide to stick with the Klingon course, I should go ahead and buy "The Klingon Dictionary"....but it may be a waste.

As I may switch over to Spanish, because it would be more used and it is shocking how quickly I seem to be learning a language using Duolingo. Why waste time on a constructed language?

If Duolingo doesn't have it, you will be able to find many sources that do.

    I find this useful: http://klingonska.org

Constructed languages give you a lot more nerd cred. :)

OH COOL! Thanks for the link...I had not found that web page at all. I will bookmark it. :)

I use the Klingon Assault Group's Language Academy web site resources, a lot.
Strangely, I can not post the group's web site on the forums.
And search for Klingon on You Tube because at least there is sound there.

I doubt I need any nerd cred. At my age, that sort of stuff does not matter any more. LOL!
