hay, I'm using a new wireless usb modem for my internet and my ping in game is rather high even though the internet speed is faster than my old adsl line.. I usialy get about 900 ping because of where I live but now it jump up to 1800 and all over the place. Anyone out there with experience able to tell me if there is something I can do to better this or is it just what comes with wireless?

Mobile internet?
Speed can be as good as you like, your ping will suck compared to a line, always. The latency is massive.

Test it if you like, your ping to anywhere will likely be high.I've quit excluding TW for my faction. But I still hang around to help out those who still enjoy the game under PWEs horrific handling and to have fun in the forums. b:cute
#Shame about PWEs absolutely craptastic handling of the goons glitching. Remember kids, there's no punishment for breaking the rules here!#
If you make a valid complaint, your thread will disapear. Don't post it here, post it on other sites where PW can't hide it.0 -
If your using a WEP router vulnerable to the Newsham 21 bit attack your problem is I'm downloading the latest Harry Potter movie from your network.AKA PermaSpark, Heartshatter0

Wireless is bad for playing MMO's on because there are SO many things that can cause interference with your signal.
It could be another computer on your own network streaming.
It could be another network near you that's running on a similar channel.
It could be that your router has a low memory buffer and there's traffic on the wired side.
It could be that someone turned on the microwave.
It could be a lot of other wireless traffic in your vicinity.
It could be someone driving down the road with a CB radio.
It could be a florescent lamp being turned on nearby.
It could be a thunderstorm.
It could be sunspot activity.
And to think, that's the short list.Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.

There are those who panic,
And then there is us.

Latency and bandwidth really have nothing to do with each other.
It's like having a 1 inch garden hose... if it's 10 feet long, water shoots out really quickly, if it's 50 feet long, well, it takes a while but the same volume of water will come out the end.
b:victoryI post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0
