  • I also think there will be 2 Gith races. The main "free" one will be the Githzerai, while the later "freemium" one will be Githyanki. Both are highly Intelligent, but Githzerai focus on Wisdom and Dexterity, while Githyanki focus on Strength. If they ever put out an "Eldritch Knight" class (yeah right), Githyanki would be…
  • With scaling, people are extremely frustrated because it is too heavy handed. This seems to be reaching emergency levels of frustration, hence the stream and this thread. I don't think tweaking things as they are is a safe approach anymore. In an effort to stop the bleeding, the degree of the scaling should be momentarily…
  • I do give Mimic King some kudos for breaking the number one rule of business: never publicly take responsibility for anything, ever. Posts like this and the upcoming stream (assuming it's not all just a big dog-and-pony show) can do a lot to buy good will. Despite much of the vitriol, I think most people are willing to…
  • Mod-not-mod note: To the folks complaining about your posts being deleted, they (probably) weren't. You edited them shortly after posting and they got flagged as spam by the forum software and zapped. The mods will come along eventually and restore them and flag your account as "cool" (I believe that's the technical term)…
  • Clearing the cache resets it because they store the info in a cookie, and if it doesn't see that cookie, it thinks it's a new browser/device and tries to re-verify. Its stupid, but it is what it is. I use Firefox too and the same thing happens to me. I just hold my nose and use IE with cookies enabled for logging into this…
  • Dungeon achievements and "Icespire Mountaineer" are different things. That one isn't dungeon related, it's about exploring every inch of Icespire Peak. It was supposedly removed from everyone's achievement list, but it's still on mine too. It doesn't show up anymore for new characters, but it never disappeared from old…
  • Thankfully, we're not Controllers anymore, we're all Evokers now. In 5E, Fireball isn't a trap choice, it's a "you learn Fireball at 5th level or you're intentionally Wizarding wrong" like it always used to be. I've got a fever, and the only cure is more FIREBALL!!!
  • I'm not sure some folks grasp the full concept of "Fireball" and why some of us like the idea so much. It's not supposed to be a Firebolt or a Firepuff. It's not Chill Strike but with fire and no, the Warlock doesn't already have it. It's a gigantic, 40' ball of fire blowing the hamster out of everything!!! Really, to do…
  • I have them equipped, but don't have the raw items directly and can't find them in collections. It looks like the Life Steal Severity bonuses in my mount bonus list have been converted to Critical Resistance though. The main Life Steal stat on other items also looks like it's been converted to Crit Resist. Everywhere I've…
  • This bothers me as well. I always thought Storm Spell should have been changed into a core class feature of SS (now Arcanist), just like Smolder was for MoF (now Thaum). I always thought it was clunky having to slot in the defining feature of SS while MoF got it baked into the cake. That would also fill the hole you're…
  • I'm sure it was already in the works, probably for months. This isn't remotely the first time this has been brought up, people have been complaining for years. Changes like this can take a long time from plan to implementation. They may have been planning on doing this for a long time and were just waiting until another…
  • Looking at it on preview: "Terror Enchantment, Rank 12: Your At-Will, Encounter, and Daily powers deal 4% bonus damage as necrotic damage. Whenever activating your Daily power, your foe receives -2400 Awareness for 10 seconds. Your Daily powers also have a 10% chance of rooting your target for 3 seconds; this effect may…
  • It looks like Recovery is replaced with Accuracy (decreases enemy deflect chance) everywhere I see. Life Steal and Life Steal Severity likewise seems to be replaced with Critical Resistance. I can see that Bat Swarm and Mist now give Critical Resistance. I don't have Tensor's, but I would presume that it now gives Accuracy.
  • Bloodtheft looks like a total trap. 80% of the time it would proc off of an At-Will for a pitiful amount of HP. Now if it triggered only off of Encounters and Dailies, then we'd be talking.
  • Powers: - Swapping Shard(Arcanist) and Repel(Thaum) Encounters would help make each PP's power set more coherent. - Swapping Chilling Cloud(Thaum) with Ray of Frost(core) would even the At-Wills out a little by giving core a single target and AoE, and each PP a single target and AoE. Ray of Frost as a super chill stacker…
  • Some general class feedback from me is that I feel the Paragon Paths have been given way, WAY too large of a footprint! It feels kinda pointless to even say it because I know that development is far beyond the point of no return on this, but it's crazy. Before, PPs dictated about 20% of your class, but now it's more like…
  • I don't get it either. None of them will ever be found on any of my characters.
  • The Lifedrinker seems like a serviceable, if lean, LS source, at the expense of DPS. The Bloodtheft seemed decent at first glance until I realized that 80% of the time it would trigger off of an At-Will that does like 17 points of damage. That makes it actually look like a hard pass.
  • Really? This is a complaint? I'd pay to STOP getting ID scrolls. I stopped collecting the dungeon keys a long time ago because the scrolls were so annoying. Getting rid of identification is a 100% upgrade to everyone, VIP and non-VIP alike. Good riddance.
  • When the mathematicians show up, they always assume that this game implements randomness 100% properly. The effects of probability, statistics, and observation bias talked about are totally and completely true... IN THEORY. No one is arguing the laws of math and randomness, what's being argued with is the IMPLEMENTATION IN…
  • No Fireball or Lightning Bolt?! What have you been spending all this time on anyway? I am disappoint. :joking/notjoking: Wow, I knew the class changes would be pretty steep, but I didn't expect Wizards (and everyone else) to basically be drawn and quartered. Before, subclasses were like 20% of your powers and a tiny bit of…
  • My hope would be 2x (100% / chance). That would put 10% at 20, 5% at 40, 3% at 67, and 1% at 200. This would stop baiting people with bad luck into using Coals on 3%+ chances, but would still leave Coals clearly best for 1%.
  • They don't really need to change any of the GWF gear to Barbarian gear. They could add some flavor along the way or change Sword Knots to Totems or something, but overall they use the same gear. I have a 5E Barbarian character and he's wearing Scale Mail RIGHT NOW, lol. As for appearances, after wearing the Chult gear for…
  • I think the counter argument is boiling down to a few meaningful options are better than tons of meaningless options. Obviously that's assuming the new options will be meaningful. We'll have to wait and see. As an added bonus, fewer feats would be fewer places for the code to go haywire. We all know how haywire the feats…
  • I've always liked Barbarians and felt it was a shame we couldn't have them because GWFs were Barbarians wearing Fighter clothing. I mean, Determination? That is very obviously Rage. I know it may be a bit too much too soon to do it all right now, but I hope they slowly shift the class to be even more Barbarian-ish. Maybe…
  • This is a noble goal. To me, it sounds like this is something they are trying to do here. With the "opposed check" approach, they should be able to eliminate the need to ever do another reset like this in the future. Now, they also need to be mindful of not releasing a bunch of broken gear down the road like they've been…
  • I'd love to have some player housing. I dunno if a marriage system would add much, but I'd probably create a second account and marry myself. I've always wanted to marry myself.
  • To expand on what @kvet was saying, 3E and 4E feats were boatloads of little this'n'that dials, mods, and circumstantial bonuses. It was a rats nest. Most of them were useless, some of them comically so, while others were all but mandatory. It wasn't long before those hundreds of feat options turned into a few "correct"…
  • That may be the case in the new game and would also be a good way to go. I was thinking more of the old-school version where you actually regain straight HP. In the 2nd Ed. game I run, my brother's Half-Orc Henchman Fighter has a Ring of Vampiric Regeneration, a Girdle of Stone Giant Strength, and the +2 cursed axe from…
  • They're probably being bought up by NDA-signed testers that are positioning themselves to make bank on these and other changes. Either that, or less scrupulous versions of me that are making an educated guess.
