  • I don't understand what you mean. I can see the webpage there just fine.
  • Okay, but what would you rather be said in place of that? If the ship is destroyed, then technically you have "failed" the mission by failing to protect it, regardless of if it is supposed to be a no win scenario or not.
  • That's true, but it could confuse people now that the Tholians have been introduced near the Neutral Zone, having to get to their territory by using the Transwarp Gateway and travelling that distance might make a few people raise their eyebrows. Of course, that's assuming they don't add a quicker way to get there, which…
  • That seems to make sense - I couldn't place the other image, so I wasn't sure where it was. Either way, the most likely solution is that because the Tholian Assembly was never really visited or explored propperly on-screen, there was no need to establish an exact location for it. I mean, the writers have contradicted…
  • Ahah, don't get me wrong, I know that there are a lot of friendly fleets out there. Besides, talking/playing nice should be standard, considering we should all have basic manners and a level of social decorum. I've had great experiences with guilds in other MMOs, but there's something about being called "Fleet Admiral"…
  • Well I didn't know that, so I stand corrected! Nevertheless, the map in that picture doesn't specifically identify the location of Tholian space. According to Memory Alpha, the TNG episode "Reunion" also identifies Tholian space as bordering the Federation and Klingon Empire, but I can't recall exactly what was said there.…
  • Is the suit in the set the new First Contact style one, worn by the NPCs? And how do you go about getting the set?

  • I was able to continue with it yesterday by switiching instances.
  • The map you linked to isn't canon either, though. The TrekLit continuity is probably more reliable, mainly because the Vanguard books were signed off by CBS. Another thing worth thinking about; in "In a Mirror, Darkly", the Cardassians haven't been discovered by the Terran Empire, but they are aware of the Tholians…
  • Indeed, the Vanguard series does a show that Tholian space is bordered by both the Federation and Klingon Empire, so I'd hope that any new sectors are put below the Eta Eridani Sector Block. I'm interested in seeing if any of the Vanguard stuff is incorporated into the Tholian story, to be honest.
  • The problem I have with some fleets is the way they're organised. You have a heirachy within the fleet, with those at the top thinking they can tell their "underlings" how to play the game. I play a game to relax, not to conform to a pseudo-militaristic rule set. From Day One, STO has been a single player oriented MMO.…
  • True. But by invading Nukara Prime, the Tholian Assembly has already committed an act of war against the Federation. They'd be perfectly within their rights to lauch a counter-strike - although why they'd want yet another war front on their hands is beyond me.
  • Janeway? Looks more like he was trying to say, "Sisko" to me...
  • If you read the blog, it tells you:
  • Yes, 100% positive. They are the First Contact EV suits, not the MACO costume.
  • No, they've got the NPCs wearing the First Contact style environmental suits (Picard and Worf on the Enterprise deflector array fighting the borg style).
  • I thought it was his hand that he'd throw on a blade - his head would cause quite a mess, really ;)
  • Ooh, that's such a tease! :(
  • Looks like it'll start soon, Zero's just about to post the patch notes in the Tribble section.
  • Is there any chance you can give us an update as to when this patch will go live? I'm not going to wait up half the night to play this, as much as I'd like to. If the UK is only going to get the chance to play this tomorrow, I'd appreciate the heads up.
  • The Tholian model is simply stunning. Good work!
  • I read one of the Lost Era novels the other day, and it was talking about a Caitian colony. They were a nomadic people who lived in the desert, herding animals - and I thought for a moment that I'd stepped into Elsweyr by mistake;)
  • I'm wondering this too. Usually, patches seem to come at about 7 PM here, but I'd expect to see the patch notes - or some indication that the server is going down - much sooner.
  • I'd always thought that the Acadamy was seperate to the Starfleet Command complex, even though they're supposed to be on the same side of the Golden Gate Bridge (at least, most of the times that they've been shown on screen). In "Engdame", the Starfleet Medical building is huge, so I doubt it'd be anywhere near where the…
  • I think I know what you're talking about. I have to click the tabs twice sometimes, when switching servers, before the patcher will start to load. So, I'll click once, and nothing will happen - but the launcher will highlight the tab - and then I have to click again before anything happens.
  • I've had a look at all of the new maps, and I haven't had the Foundry crash for me once. This is with on-demand patching turned off, but the way.
  • I think it may have more to do with the Constitution silhouette than the ship itself. You can identify the Excalibur and Vesper as looking like the Constitution-class - indeed, they're meant to be 25th Century variants of it, which I think is the real problem. CBS are very protective over the Constitution, and while they…
  • No, the Tholians are not conquerors - they are isolated, and prefer not to have any contact with other species unless they need to. Obviously, something has changed that - in Season 6 - is drawing them out of seclusion. They're not really like the Dominion at all, and either way, environmental suits make sense. How else…
  • Zero, is there any chance the Jupiter uniforms could find their way into the Foundry while it's being worked on - pretty please? :)
  • I don't really think they should be buffed at all. Lockbox ships are a novelty - people choose to sink hundreds of pounds or millions of credits into purchasing them, they're not forced to. Fleet ships should be better than them, because actual in-game work will be put into being able to purchase them.
