As usual, phoenixc and smokebailey tend to hit nails right on the head. You two rock! As for my most wished for returns: 1. Mine Trap (my all-time favourite group mission) 2. Saturday's Child 3. The Tribble with Klingons 4. All right, in fact, yes, the entire original Klingon War arc. 5. The Foundry (although I know that…
Great Bird's Ghost! They're not even PRETENDING it's a Star Trek game anymore, It's D&D. Don't get me wrong, I love sword and sorcery RPGs. I've been playing them since the Ultima games first came out for the C-64, and pen and paper ones before that. I just don't think those sorts of things belong HERE. Hard pass for me.…
Expanding the Reptilian Strength trait to allow for boulder throwing would be a great step to giving Gorn a decent trait set. Adding the Poison Bite to Gorn Boffs would be cool, too. Then again, perhaps the poison bite is a secondary sex characteristic. Captains with it are one sex, BOFFs and captains without it are the…
Thanks! Stern and Swagger both seem free of the new animations, so I've gone through and switched each my captains to one or the other of them. Now to do all the BOFFS that I had not already switched from Standard.
Great. Now I can't get the image of Mirror Spongebob (with goatee) out of my mind! On topic, I was surprised by The Emperor's Will (i.e. the Emperor is Wil...Wheaton), but I liked his performance in it. It would be a twist if it was our universe's Wesley who is now the Terran Emperor. In his last appearance in TNG, he was…
My pet peeve? The apparent contempt the DEVs have for TOS. Which is ironic, since without TOS, their wouldn't BE a franchise, nor a STO. Cases in point: 1. TOS Connie interior (a PURCHASED interior, BTW, not a default one): ..A. BOFFs are at wrong bridge stations for class ..B. Non-23c.- "fill in characters" show up ..C.…
It would have been nice if added as a new choice (more choice = good)! But to change every captain's default from disciplined military officer to undisciplined squirmy human civilian - regardless of whether they might be a stoic Vulcan, Gorn, Klingon, Romulan, or Borg, for example - and to do so without any warning after…
And getting the kit slot is kind of underwhelming, when that doesn't grant the kit module slots you automatically get on your captain when you equip a kit. Oh, look, a shiny utility belt!...that I can't actually hang tools or weapons on. Meh.
Agreed 100%! Also, discussing/advising why/how this should be for dil instead of zen (and for how much dil), and how this would fix the broken dil exchange would be a much more useful dialogue than quibbling over definitions of PTW and escalating it into flame wars. ;) Pricing it at a quarter million dil would be the same…
Many thanks, BaddMoonRizin! It was starting to feel very odd that nobody had mentioned this (I missed the Bug Reports thread, apparently). Thanks again!
Not true. Adet'Pa is a DOFF classified as a Projectile Officer, but has the EXACT effects of a CONN Officer. Designation and function do not necessarily have to match in a DOFF. And I agree that the Epic DOFF "The Doctor" should be classed as a Doctor, regardless of function ability. As an Epic chatracter, he probably is…
You are not alone. the arrow keys still work for subsequent screens in the same dialogue instance, but require you to mouse click an option on the first screen of the sequence. Which is awkward for those of us who try to minimize or eliminate mouse use. Hm. I wonder if a touchscreen monitor would work with STO?
And another problem with the new EV suit system/slot: not only can't you pick up the 25c EV suit that it now automatically equips (which makes sense, as it is now redundant), but AoY characters cannot get their generic 23c suits, as the 25c ones show up for them, too. Would like to still pick them up before boarding the…
Thanks, west! 8 years of optimistically grabbing every Recruit Gorn Officer DOFF mission I've seen in 8 years and never gotten Bite on any of them. I know the Wiki says they can have it, but I've never seen it on any in-game. I'd have stuffed my Corn pirate's Away Team with them!
Yep, they even show up fine on the character selection screen. They can be assigned to bridge stations, and Away Teams, and as DOFF Department Heads, and they function well in all those respects. They just don't show up when I visit ship's bridges, while non-hologram officers do. All present and correct everywhere except…
To be fair, he did say "one of the worst". But while the original Battlestar was pretty awful, at least it DID have John Colicos in it as a major baddie. For worst science before Disco, though, I'll take Space:1999. An explosion on the far side of the moon sends the moon hurtling AWAY from earth - instead of smack into it,…
Really? It is difficult to get tone out of text sometimes, so maybe I missed your (and others) intent, but quite a few of these posts came off sounding arrogant and contemptuous. Starting with this one of yours, in fact: Those all sounded aggressively judgmental to me. Again, perhaps I misread the tone, but taken…
Wow, the OP really touched a nerve for a lot of people with this thread. So many usually calm, rational forumites turning into rabid, arrogant, "your-play-is-bad-and-you-should-feel-bad" types, telling others they have no right to play a game as they see fit. So many people whose opinions I normally admire, expressing…
Private queue!?! Aaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!! How did I miss that button for 8 YEARS! Dash it all! You sir, have made my day!!! If you ever need a case of Romulan Ale, let me know!
The 23c Gorn tunic IS available...but only with the 25c Gorn chest. The 23c Gorn who SHOULD have it, don't! Which sucks big-time for us fans of 23c Gorn.
