  • Agreed. Even when it was the universal Endeavour and everyone had it (the single run of Binary Circuit), it was slow to pop. If you got the "Complete 3 of this TFO" on a Competitive you'd have to either use a reroll on it or wait for the next day.
  • The down arrow at bottom right of the mini-map has an option to view your Endeavour perk status.
  • I get that 'actual business reasons' is an issue: if something takes X development time and stats show it only gets played by N% of the players, then it looks clear that further development is not profitable. That said, for the reasons mentioned in my earlier post, the Foundry is simply not utilized because playing it is…
  • I think the Foundry is a highly important tool to the success of STO. The problem being that it does not integrate well with the many things Cryptic has invented to keep people clicking madly away in STO. That plus the 'how to separate the wheat from the chaff' issue. Cryptic has added DOffs, Admiraly, RTFOs, Endeavours,…
  • Huh, so in STO, there are more clerics than wizards... interesting!
  • I also really enjoyed the mix of explore/discover/combat they had in Echoes, well done Cryptic!
  • Super awesome answers folks (and CrypticSpartan)! Thanks, I am off to pop a pile more packs then!
  • Annual with Q's WW, or for 1 week with each annual event (Anniversary, Summer, Winter), or just with Summer & Winter. Anything works for me so long as it's not too frequent - or too rare either I guess (less than once/year).
  • Man, I sure hope someone finds a way to bring logical consistency to our game of space-warping time-travelling magic-abilitying universe-saving indestructible pixel-captains! That being said: Reason 1) Because there are still Ferengi in the 31st century. Reason 2) It's the Yangs vs the Comms all over again!
  • I also remember the City of Heroes days fondly, and from my perspective City, Star Trek Online and NeverWinter have been some of my best gaming experiences. 7 years playing Heroes, 4 years in Star Trek Online, only started playing Neverwinter in the last year. I think I can safely say that despite a few missteps here and…
  • Sorry for the bump: I've asked around, and googled this, but have yet to find any indication if the bugged Event Store behaviour of the 2014 Anniversary Event DSD is 'a known issue', or 'we're working on it', or 'this is the way it's gonna stay, 2bad4u', or any other status. If anyone has an update, a link to a tweet or…
  • Same for me as nanomorph, was doing Sunrise - had to clear some time specifically to run it for the first week rewards - half-way through, Server Not Responding. Shut down, and it goes to Connect Establish Connection to Patch Server. Thanks for the update Hagar3, guess we just have to cross our fingers and hope it is fixed…
  • The Borg are an allegory for technology, which causes the de-humanization of everything that encounters it. Resistance is feudal!
  • I do thank Cryptic for the freebies, it's always nice to pick up something a little extra. However if you really enjoy the whining, just ask Cryptic to give a decent free reward package to the KDF side and nothing at all to the Feds.
  • My characters are in 3 different fleets, none of which use Armada. As yakodym said, it's just a way to have some large fleets dump resources for extra credit/projects. Also, one of my mates is in a 2-fleet armada, when he was buying ships at the Ship Requisition contact on ESD, the captain in the Alpha fleet got a (dil)…
  • For me, mail consoles on ESD have a super-small interaction spot, you have to be standing ON the mail console in 1 very tiny location to receive your mail (for items etc). Edit: Post-patch Oct.29, I notice on ESD there is a second spot, also small but not AS small, about 6 feet in front of the mail consoles that work. May…
  • "Critical Fail; ship Lost in Space. Load new TV Series."
  • I have only been doing standard Doffing, Admiralty, Borg/Tholian red alerts and a couple of old story missions. No crashes there, but haven't run any new content either.
  • Well, it is launch day, so I waited til an hour after the reboot, then logged in, ran all my captains through their usual routine of Doffing, Exchanging, some Tholian and Borg alerts, cleaned up a little inventory to make space, and after 4 hours of that (without a hitch, although a few small rubberbands) I logged out and…
  • Delta stuff was nice, but I personally think it would be a bad idea to create a cycle of 'I want a big pile of free goodies, lets have a Delta run twice a year'.
  • Oh those kooky Cardassians and their vigorous foreplay rituals!
  • Agreed! Appreciate the focus on 'practical, useable' rewards this round, it was really nice!
  • Problem is that if you allow 2 WC Eng slots, it allows you to double up on any one type. The game doesn't currently have a setting for 'Can slot more than 1 DOff but only if they have different power types'.
  • Several things. The quality of the DOffs assigned act as a 'mulitplier' on EC and (iirc) Exp rewards. Higher quality = more. Plus of course, if you crit the assignment it increases again.
  • I think you are leaving out the lore-ish point that joining either KDF or RRW isn't the Ferengi's decision to make. The Federation may not have much in the way of standards, but other galactic empires certainly do.
  • It was never advertised to be, in fact specifically the opposite. So 'no', although not to the question you asked.
  • It is, at heart, a combat game; as is pretty much every other half-way successful MMO game out there. After any war/chaotic situation somebody has to go clean out the looters, the opportunists, the rebels, as well as any breakaway factions of old foes that want to take advantage of an exhausted target. If you think there…
  • The transporter effect I would like to see would be one that doesn't remove my facial hair, then my hairstyle, then my facial features before visibly transporting up the generic model I created my captain from. More to the OP however, cosmetic effects sell well in virtually all micro-trans MMOs. As Dragnridr said, they…
  • I agree that 'bug fixes don't sell anything' and also that 'ignoring long-standing bugs and NWAI features for years is a good way to lose your most loyal players'. I would ask that they simply make a commitment to identify the most irksome problems, and further make a commitment to eliminating at least a few of those with…
