I'm not sure that I necessarily see a problem with using canon characters in Foundry missions. One can create a costume that looks like the character without looking like a particular actor; this is especially true where more than one actor has played the role. Case in point: Jim Kirk. We have seen three different visuals…
My guess is that the Holographic TOS Bridge Crew is being given away in lieu of the Large Boost, at least for those players who have previously claimed the boost. The timing of both giveaways is the same.
Hi Ashstorm1, It is possible to create single Boss NPCs on custom, Sky Castle maps. You can find a discussion of this at https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline/#/discussion/1182824/problem-with-npc-groups-in-published-mission . Hope this helps!
I remembered to replay this again yesterday. It's a fine first mission, and the rating that I left reflects that. I urge others to play it so that it gets out of the review tab. :)
You might want to check out the following YouTube playlists: Kirkfat's Back to Basics Tutorials Nagorak's Building a Custom Interior Tutorials There are other excellent ones as well, but these will give you a good start :)
What if you went with the Admiral's Uniform from the Uniform Code, but made some small colour alterations, like so: *edit* I posted this without actually consulting the Uniform Code, and my old brain has apparently forgotten things. For reference, the STO Code for Flag Ranks can be found here: Starfleet Uniform Code Page 8…
I really enjoyed this one. I couldn't give it a rating to help it out of the review stage at this point, but I would be happy to play it again when the rating system is back up.
You can use a costumed member of a neutral Targ group as the injured crewman after the explosion goes off. The neutral Targ NPC groups (but not the single Targ) do not display a beam in animation when they are made visible.
It's baaack... I've republished this mission for the holidays again this year. It doesn't show up on the Top Rated or Hot lists, but you can find it easily by searching for "Christmas" :)
They can be crafted in the R&D system under the Science school, and you can likely find one on the Exchange if you don't have the necessary R&D level to craft it yourself.
Sadly, there aren't any groups with melee weapons, so most authors use something along the lines of costumed Mugato NPC groups for such situations. Not great, perhaps, but it might provide an option for you. A beam out animation isn't normally possible, except through workarounds. The problem with the workaround option is…
Made the following corrections to the mission: Thank you for making my mission better :) I do, however, reserve the right to tell the story that I wish to tell. Some will dislike it, this is true. Others might like it very much. The plot is the plot.
Thanks to some of my reviewers, certain problems have been recognized and (hopefully) remedied. These include: For those interested in some images from the mission, I offer these: I don't mind trading mission plays, but I will be honest about your mission and expect the same from anyone who rates my work. As always, I…
I liked your idea of the timer creating a small pause, but the bridge maps are rather nasty for creating certain special effects, and I gather you didn't like the little bit of flashing on the "Oddy Timer" test map. I'll take that down now.
As I indicated on your Mission Database entry, I published a timer to Review that places the timer elements in the forward section of the bridge. The "mission" is called "Oddy Timer" and has the same starting location as your mission. Should you find it suitable, I would be happy to send you the asset details so that you…
I haven't tried it out, but perhaps you could move the timer to the fore area of the oddy bridge map and then block the area off with a couple invisible walls. The player doesn't have a reason to go up there anyway. If that doesn't work, I'd just drop the timer. It would be easier to create a dialogue that diverts the…
I played your mission through and really enjoyed it. minababe's points are valid, so I won't repeat them. I also had your NPC timer appear on the ship bridge map, so you might also want to look at that. At the end of the day, though, I wanted to finish this mission, as opposed to just wanting it to end. That's always the…
