Wait, what? How does the removal of exploration clusters even have anything to do with the KDF? They're removing the missions because they were lackluster in the eyes of the development team, not because people on forums like to whine and complain. You're really delusional if you think otherwise- Either that or just really…
I wouldn't be surprised if she held both of those distinctions, yeah. The Klingon Empire is probably not going to place anyone but the most honored of captains at the helm of their new flagship.
Voicing approval for this idea! I would oh so love to see some extra 'oomf' added to boarding party, to justify taking it over other powers. It's a neat skill in theory, and this DOFF idea would really improve on the concept.
And you remind me of someone who makes strawman arguments to deflect the points of others. You can't write off dissenting views this easily. If someone disagrees, they disagree. Many of the people saying no in this thread presented valid reasons why they think it shouldn't be.
Talk about a lack of gratitude here. The OP's attitude is insane. Cryptic made a mistake by not giving thumbnails at first, and is taking a step to fix that. Criticizing them for fixing it is dumb; They simply can't win with your logic, because if they HADN'T added the thumbnail you'd still be criticizing them for not…
I know, right? The best thing this thread accomplished was reminding me how much I love the sheer chaos of Ker'rat. Going in solo, not knowing what I'll face... It's a lot of fun. Do I lose a lot when I go there? Yes. Do I win occasionally? Also yes. Do I enjoy myself either way? Hell yes. Shouldn't be entering Ker'rat if…
At least now I know not to bother with this. The Klingon bridge selections would be TRIBBLE for a ship like this, and the lack of a suitable bridge ruins the feel of the whole thing for me. Shame. It had a chance to be pretty cool.
I think some people misinterpreted the intent of my OP; I worded it poorly, and did not mean to imply that only Federation ships land on planets. My point was more that I can't think of many examples where ships this /large/ land and take off safely, Voyager notwithstanding. It's usually smaller things like Nova-class…
I'm not trying to be argumentative, promise- But can I get a link to a source on that? I was unaware that individual episodes could be excluded from canon like that, and am curious.
Actually... We do see transwarp drives mentioned again, in Voyager. Both Borg and Voth propulsion technologies are referred to on-screen as transwarp, and later the word 'transwarp drive' is used during the modifications performed on the Voyager's shuttle 'Cochrane'; Which DID manage to achieve working transwarp... Just…
Blessed are the parsers, for they hath paved the way to truth. Blessed are the A2Bers, for they hath mastered the use of forum search. Blessed are the vapers, for they shall inherit the queues. In the name of Our Lord, DPS, amen. :P
I think the term the OP was really looking for is 'viable'. His question, as I read it, could be more correctly stated as; "Are these ships viable compared to other end-game vessels?"
I really don't get why a subset of players I've come to call 'Feddiebears' find battlecloaks to be so overpowered. They really aren't; They have a lot of limits as-is, are easily countered, and come with drawbacks inherent in the ships that receive them. A battlecloak is a situational tool at best, and suicidal at worst.
Got my copy of the collector's edition for $9 USD on Amazon. I'm glad I did so, if the posts in this thread are correct about the current range of prices it is going for.
While the thread did have a fair share of vitriol in it, I am pretty surprised that it simply disappeared. There was a lot of genuine feedback about a very real issue with the game in that thread, and it came from a much larger pool of users than the typical forum crowd.
From my original post: (http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1006571) I'll move it here, since I didn't see this thread when I made mine.
This was a little disappointing, yeah- I picked the shields for my first run entirely because I wanted to see what neat new shield visual had been added.
SWTOR is in no way a threat to STO. It may have a few fun moments, but frankly? That game is in even worse shape than this one. I wish it wasn't so, but that's just how it is.
The entire game references the Star Trek series- To pick out every example of a 'reference' would take pages upon pages, because most or all in-game content can be tied back to television canon in some way. I'm not really sure why this thread was necessary in the first place.
Hijacking someone else's thread to advertise another game entirely is a bit immature. It also makes it unlikely I or others will take you seriously. That whole post was all just a really weak attempt at getting views for your livestream that has nothing to do with STO or this thread at all.
Did you actually read his post? The problem is that, in large fleets, the projects fill up so fast and so erratically that a lot of people cannot get an opportunity to earn credits.
