If you look closely at the artwork, you can see the characteristic…
  • Week 1: earn fleet credits -> requires EC or Dil or Fleet Marks -> all acquired most efficiently from combat What was that about a "reprieve from fighting"? Visible connection of story events with the game world? If only. I got that reference... and completely agree with the sentiment.
  • Theta for the classic look, but it's a hard call for this pair because (IMO) they're the least compelling of all the proposed designs. Given that both Beta and Delta have been knocked out (for shame), I am desperately hoping that the Omega design is the final victor. Three hangars for a Dreadnought? What madness is this…
  • When talking about the Varanus, I think it's important to mention that they gave it away for free a while back, might have been last year. Any ships that they distribute like that are pretty much an admission that the ship doesn't sell well. Even having been given it for free, I have little use for it since most of the…
  • The lack of customisation on the 'unique' alien BOffs is almost excusable because they have interesting designs or need certain equipment to survive (eg Breen). However, that's not the case for the hierarchy BOff... whose uniform is more boring than a stock Antares outfit. As an absolute minimum, surely we could get a bit…
  • What's the going policy on fleet and rep gear? The last time I dropped by STB was well before the DR expansion and the preferred kit was nothing above MkXI rare and a few VR pieces, and no rep/fleet gear (ships themselves notwithstanding).
  • I thought the (original) Galaxy-class had phaser arrays located close to the base out the nacelle pylons? It'd be a perfect spot for the rear beam slots. I bought this ship and I'm really happy with it, except for this single detail; I hate it when weapons clip through the hull. There are already port and starboard visual…
  • Unless you want to hand over a lot of Dilithium for Undine rep Biomolecular Phasers, or Dil and Fleet Credits for Fleet Advanced / Elite Phasers, the Exchange should be your first stop for new weapons. Rarity and mods are mostly personal preferences when it comes to PvE, but Mk XI and XII uncommon/rare weapons are fairly…
  • Hitting "hard and fast" is usually not associated with Cruisers and their 4/4 weapons layout. That said, the one ship that ticks all of the boxes for the specs you've suggested points to the Presidio Command Battlecruiser. 4 Tactical consoles, one hangar bay, Command BOff seating. Definitely one of the more flexible T6…
  • I've thought on this for a while, and I was seriously considering a KDF-aligned female Romulan Science captain, but I couldn't come up with any interesting build ideas (and as other players have pointed out, Romulan sci ship choices are very slim). I've decided that my Delta Recruit will be female Aliengen Fed Tactical…
  • Why not try out an Engineer in an Escort (or equivalent)? If you only have two characters then you probably haven't tried a second or third faction, which will also be a new experience. Engineers can be quite powerful in ground combat with turrets and generators, and while you might miss Attack Pattern Alpha in space, you…
  • If new characters are going to be Delta Recruits, shouldn't that make all of the existing characters who've reached level 60 and completed all of the existing story missions Delta Veterans? Hmm? I have 6 characters - my main, and 5 alts that have been neglected since the release of Delta Rising. I am currently only playing…
  • This is an excellent suggestion. The non-Intel / non-Command ships that have already been released really need to be updated to allow both types of hybrid BOffs to be slotted. If that were to happen, I'd probably buy the Guardian (and I thought I swore never to spend another cent on the game).
  • This exactly. It completely justifies my decision not to purchase any T6 ships before now, and just stick to those which received a free T-5U upgrade. I would hope that the "regular" T6 ships that have already been released will be updated to allow Command BOffs to be slotted.
  • I'm glad that other people feel this way. Given how flat that space gameplay can be, since everything is on the same axis, I do appreciate a design with a bit of weight behind it. My real beef here is with the Regent; an otherwise elegant design hindered by feeling like you're in command of a flying pancake...
  • Enemy fleet approaching at high warp! All hands, read alert! #DeltaRising
  • Bulky? That new Intel Cruiser looks as flat as a pancake. The Avenger isn't bulky - just has shorter proportions all around, but is still fairly small. The Regent is also a very flat ship. The Odyssey is thankfully well-rounded (even if not everybody likes the aesthetic). I also doubt that the Guardian will be much larger…
  • As the owner of a Cell Ship (still packaged in its box), I'm getting the sinking feeling that my lucky acquisition is swiftly devaluing. I really hope that they do something to keep these ships relevant, as it's subtracting utility without replacement. Perhaps using these ships could somehow have benefits with the new…
  • MACO armour has been customisable at the tailor for a long time now (as a separate outfit type), at least ever since the introduction of the MACO Operations and Striker variants.
  • Torp spread should work fine with the Voth wide-angle. If you've got two or more torpedo launchers mounted, though, it may be challenging to get torpedo spread to apply to the Voth torp, because it has a relatively long cooldown, and a faster-firing torpedo will "use" the spread ability first. If the ability is working…
  • As an owner of all three torpedoes mentioned above, I can confidently say that the Voth wide-angle is modified by BOff and DOff abilities. Functionally, it is closest to the Quantum wide-angle.
  • This is a rather neat idea, particularly since it ties in with the swimsuits. Alternatively, perhaps there could be a deep-sea diving style area, with diver's suits (underwater EV suits), giving us a chance to explore a coral reef or underwater volcanic vents. There's plenty of room for creativity.
  • Oh damn! I've already traded in my Fleet Embassy Engineering kits, not even realising it was bugged.
  • Ohhh, this looks like fun. I've always wanted to fly my Fleet Cruisers more often, but they're just not as good for grinding through content as quickly as my JHDC with its RomPlasma beams. I'd like to join this on my main, a Fed Engineer. My handle is @starblade7 PS. Have you been running Dyson Sphere content?
  • I think some people are jumping the gun in terms of feeling that the Gal-X's BOff layout is unsatisfactory. Firstly, it's probable that they don't want to change the current C-Store ship's layout significantly in order to avoid corrupting existing ship setups. Secondly, I'm betting that the Fleet Gal-X will probably have…
  • I was aware that Science abilities that weren't crowd control were already bad, but I had no idea it was quite that bad. It certainly explains why my T'Varo's Viral Matrix 1 has negligible effect despite being spec'd into SubD. However, it would appear to me that the offline time from that EngineDisable proc on Subnuc is…
  • I know this is somewhat of a gravedig, but what consoles boost the damage of Voth Transphasic-Chroniton torpedoes? Transphasic consoles? Chroniton consoles? Both? Neither?
  • While that's not quite how I'd describe the colour, I agree that the non-Klingon KDF ships could use some love. The Orion ships have practically no customisation at all... a sore point for my Orion captain and her Fleet Corsair. I'm also glad to see that someone else had the idea of unlocking ship skins by owning the…
  • BOffs: 3x Efficient Letheans 1x Pirate Nausicaan 1x Subterfuge Romulan I am currently under the assumption that the Efficient space trait stacks... but if it doesn't, I will be hiring a few more Nausicaans. The Romulan BOff is left over from my previous ship (Fleet Tor'kaht) which had a Cloak, so the Subterfuge trait had…
  • About the power - not really. Being an Engineer helps, though, as I get a bit of power for all subsystems on either EPtX ability, as well power-boosting captain ability. If I were to swap the LtC Tac BOff for an Eng BOff, though, I'd be left only with Ens/Lt Tac BOff powers, which don't offer much flexibility for weapon…
