  • Can we get another chance at the Kelvin Timeline dress uniform? I missed it the first time around due to being in the hospital. Been waiting to see if it would come around again, and it hasn't. Is this possible?
  • On my second run through Stop the Signal. Still no clue where the probe is.
  • I understand what you're trying to say, but there is one major flaw in your argument. You are not dealing with customer service here. You're dealing with technicians. For that matter, you're dealing with techs who are, at this very moment, busily attempting to repair the servers and code so that you can play the game.…
  • No. All I'm saying is that, even though we play a game set in the 25th century, we are dealing with 21st century technology. That means there will be server downtime, errors, bugs, repeated patching and -- perhaps most important to remember -- long stretches of monotony punctuated by moments of hair-pulling frustration.…
  • It makes no sense to keep complaining about server downtime. It's not like it's going to get you anywhere. If all you want is a case of the warm-and-fuzzies, go rescue a puppy.
  • Now, will the spider monkeys please stop flinging their poo and go back to telling racist jokes in the Zone chat? kthxbai
  • Don't these trolls have some billy goats gruff to harass? I support the use of the bancannon against our juvenile spammers.
  • QFT! Look, there is a variant of Godwin's Law for sci-fi: the longer a particular sub-genre goes on, the probability of seeing elements from other sub-genres in the particular series approaches one. Star Trek is approaching 50 years. I'd be completely surprised to see only new, hitherto unseen, unheard or unread story…
  • I think admiralwolf makes some fair criticisms. As a Fleet Admiral, I've seen what my counterparts in other fleets are willing to do to get ECs and cred among their peers. I have seen and heard about some pretty shady stuff that goes well beyond what admiralwolf has expressed here. There really needs to be more review and…
  • For something like this, it probably would have been better if the director or someone was giving Dorn better cues for each line, so that it would have more of the "feel" of a conversation. As it was, I was glad to see Dorn reprise his iconic role in-game. By far, the best of those who have done VO work for the game…
  • I corrected a few minor problems with marker placement and a few positioning problems with NPCs. Any further glitches, except for typos, errors of fact, etc., are the fault of Cryptic/PWE, not me.
  • Some other additions to the Foundry worth considering: * A timing function -- I got this idea from seeing the PvEs that have timed waves of enemy squadrons (e.g., no-win scenario). It would be good to have that option for Foundry, as well as a timing function that would place enemy ships in a given area for a specific…
  • I don't recall off-hand if it's in the game or not. It would look similar to the asynchronous warp effect from the M.A.C.O. space set or the shields shell from the Assimilated space set, but would be a continuous effect. Basically, I'm looking for something that looks like a static warp shell. ON EDIT: The more I think…
  • Thanks to everyone for all the thumbs-up for these maps. I need those maps to do a series of missions, the first one of which starts at Drozana. The Wells bridge and warp shell are for the continuation to the mission, "The Open Cage", I made early this year.
  • Geko gave hints, not the whole story. This is pure speculation, but I suspect there is one more large piece to the puzzle. In the Destiny novels (which often find a reflection in STO, such as the Vesta-class multi-mission explorer), there is a reference to a vast network of subspace tunnels that begin at or near the Azure…
  • I originally posted this in a separate thread (which can now be closed/deleted) before I realized what this one was for. * Drozana Station as a Detail in Maps (or, alternately, the Drozana System space map) * Drozana Station interior map * Wells Bridge interior map * Warp shell effect for space maps Thanks in advance.
  • I recently joined the 10th, and I find it to be a very active and open fleet. There is a lot of member interaction, and the command staff is very helpful. Check 'em out.
  • Been patching for 15 minutes. At 99.3 percent. Something's working.
  • This whole process has been nothing but a disaster for me. First of all, I started doing the updates required to get into the Open Beta yesterday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m. EDT. It is now 5:30 p.m. EDT and I am only halfway through it. The launcher has been cut off several times due to "timeouts" and servers not…
  • I've been having a lot of problems with the disconnects, too. The only time I didn't have a problem was when I stood still and did nothing.
  • The one thing that always attracted me to Star Trek was that it was not just another sci-fi series pumped out of a Hollywood mill. It wasn't a victim of crass commercialism and dumbed-down buffoonery. Even when the third season of TOS became an "alien of the week" show, it didn't treat the audience like a pack of morons.…
  • So, what time will access to "Temporal Ambassador" be given? It's Jan. 31 here and I am patiently waiting.... Oh, who the hell am I kidding?! I'm not patiently waiting! Load it up, already!
  • Launcher came up. Going into the game now. Fingers crossed. ON EDIT: I'm in! Yay!
  • QFT! Honestly, I pretty sure that all those claiming they won't become a lifer or, at least, go gold never had any intention of doing so in the first place. It reminds me of politics, where people say, "I'm a supporter of Party X, but I'm going to vote for Party Y". It's a bluff.

  • Can you tell us what the problem was?
  • 1804 ET - Restart launcher after switching to "Patch via Proxy" 1807 ET - Patch finished and "Engage" clicked. Cryptic screen comes up and loading bar moves quickly. 1808 ET - Second loading screen with delta shield comes up. 1810 ET - Character screen is up 1811 ET - Now standing in ESD #12.
  • The "Patch via Proxy" option works well. I'm at 81.5% and I've only had the launcher up for a minute or two.
  • Have our intrepid engineers checked the permissions on the patch? It sounds like someone failed to set the permissions so that people outside of Cryptic/PWE network cannot get in. Using a VPN would be read by their network as a back door, and thus as within it. Try setting the permissions to 5. Also, check and make sure…
