The Advanced Research vessel was recently given away for free. Just go to the C-store and click on it. It's not bad - a sub engineer setup. A bit too tanky for my taste.

Nobody seems to be talking about this ship much, but I just got it and I love it. Having two LtCmdr stations is a godsend since Eng and Sci both have their best crowd control and exotic damage abilities there. How about the ultimate challenge: teamwork? If the developers really wanted to get the elite gamers' blood boiling, create an STF that relies on something OTHER THAN pumping out 10k DPS at all times. Have the mission require cloak or science abilities or something... and then make the rewards astronomical.

I still disagree - because regardless of how much money you sink into an MMO, expecting a single character to have access to EVERYTHING is unreasonable. The "play to win" model is bad enough without the capability to be essentially omnipotent. You have the same capability to create multiple characters with multiple roles…
