took your advice and scanned my pc twice. So far no viruses and other stuff turned up and unfortunately the problem with the connection to account server still persists today. im using AVG anitvirus btw

Noticed this too but on certain times of the day. At exactly 0000 UTC the game server stops responding and attempts to login in is just impossible. i think its also possible that STO connections are being veeery picky lately. i've observed that the launcher connects flawlessly between 1900 to 2300 UTC anything beyond that is impossible for me. ugh even characters won't load. and if they do its just one out of all the other toons and upon clicking them it just hangs then disconnects afterwards. doesn't even go to the laod screen before that.

update. The launcher work so far since my recent post, even got to play a good two hours afterwards. Unfortunately i was suddenly plagued by lags and "server not responding" messages all over till i just quit the game. Now the launcher is back to its old habits. Le sigh~ launcher crashed again this time at around 75% download of a measly 3 GB patch. I usually get that done in an hour and a half or less. This time after 7 hours of waiting. -_________-

glad it worked out for you guys :) I was pretty hopeful too last night as i tried the same thing and it did start patching, though somewhere along 800 mb the launcher window crashed and after restarting it, it won't start the download at all. Maybe I'll have better luck later when there aren't much players
