(buzzed is fine for off-duty - blackout drunk is not, because that's usually when you end up waking up next to someone you've never met before...and your pants are missing...and the air smells of rut of course, when it comes to parties, those are all signs it was a good one - especially if there's a passed-out cat on top…
(nein, it was a year and a half - he was found during Of Signs and Portents, which happened in january of 2417, and we're now in june/july 2418...one of those)
alex: he was found drifting on a derelict dominion attack ship about two years ago, which he'd apparently been stuck on since the dominion war; and he has some kind of gauntlet that can open space-time rifts - which i'm pretty sure is linked in some way to the mycelial network
(no, but if anyone wants to try and come up with a national anthem, feel free (and at least that would see actual use, unlike the speech) - i had enough trouble just trying to come up with class names for an entire space navy and ground force, including structures to say nothing of a national charter) alex: well, of course…
well, given realistically a single system contains enough raw mineral wealth to build hundreds upon hundreds of death star-sized objects (or at least sol does - the same may not be true of other systems, though i don't see why it wouldn't be), losing a planet to a lightspeed ramming attack shouldn't be THAT crippling...if…
alex: you are sneaking into a place - you're sneaking into the territory of whatever animal you're hunting, and you have to do it with complete stealth...if your target detects your presence, that's it - you lose your opportunity because hey will take off like a bullet faster than you can fire off yours but enough about…
alex: what do you think hunting entails? infiltration - you're trying to get up close enough to a target without that target knowing you're there so you can get a solid hit on it
alex: damned if i know - the only reason people have for trying to cover their scent is if they're infiltrating or escaping a place that has guard dogs or some equivalent
alex: he didn't have any other scent - which is physically impossible...like, 'violating a universal law' impossible, so he had to be using some kind of scent neutralizer that i've never encountered before, because normally they don't fully cover everything
alex: the only iron i noticed was the scent of venison blood (oh, and this was the last thing he said before tala called and he said to hold any responses dundee had, so he can pick up from there
