I know STO is an old game, but it isn't THAT old - surround sound has been around for decades now. I honestly don't see why it wouldn't have at least basic surround sound support, even if it doesn't outright say it does or have any option for it.

Being able to have a wide-angle rapid-fire quantum would be nice - could replicate the micro-quantum phalanx system on the Achilles from the Dominion War game.

Well, if you're using the Webspinner Array, you kind of HAVE to also use the mines because they're the only source of hold in the game that can be triggered more than once every 2 minutes - unless you build around Unconventional Systems too.
