(who said anything about battlegroups? there are 5 ships there, soon to be 6 as soon as nick shows up - that doesn't even make ONE task force - which is the correct term to use, by the way -, let alone 3 because a typical task force is 3-4 full carriers MINIMUM, plus supporting units)
*the crimson fang, lycan's claw and cúchulainn all engage their cloaks and set course for the wormhole, following after the defiant and exeter* (also...is there a key combo to accent a letter on an american keyboard or am i going to have to be manually copy-pasting it every time?)
a unicomplex may not take too long to build, given the resources the borg have at their disposal and no pesky bureaucracy getting in the way...but rebuilding 6 transwarp hubs AND the entire network of conduits - because with every interspacial manifold destroyed, they would have all deteriorated rapidly - is going to take…
like...the lack of a plasma-boosting set wouldn't even be that big of a deal if the actual plasma proc wasn't total TRIBBLE - maybe boost it to 30x its current base value (and every other plasma variant appropriately) so it actually DOES SOMETHING on that TRIBBLE 2.5% proc chance
(i think we can timeskip now - i don't know of anything else that needs doing though, i wonder how long nick will spend musing about that ship's name before he finally 'gets it')
*it is black with streaks of aqua blue fur all over its body - almost appearing to be lightning bolts* (it's a black alert tribble, if you couldn't figure it out)
rannulfr: who is the commander of the station? i'll contact them and offer my assistance if it's needed - i need to ask for permission to send the crew aboard my task force's ships down for shore leave anyway
rannulfr: was it an anti-augment hate crime or was he targeted for another reason? and does DS9's security require assistance? we often deal with more...exotic elements than the federation might be used to, and our scanning and information-gathering technology is set up for those elements as a result (i would think by now…
(and S31 agents...because despite being a member of an illegal black ops organization, we never actually get a chance to refuse drake's orders, not even when we're of a HIGHER rank than him)
archer never seemed hesitant to kill to me...he also wasn't very hesitant to sentence an entire crew to a slow death by stealing their warp core, or fuel or whatever it was
rannulfr: all captains and leaders of men do that...it's why they make the worst patients and drive their doctors to early greyness - as mine is so fond of pointing out to me
rannulfr: i understand - i was given a briefing of recent events by the imperator and am aware that your admiral has been through a lot lately though he didn't elaborate on the details
*rannulfr repeats his request he made to nick about joining the group when they head into the gamma quadrant while leaving behind the other two carriers for defense*
they would be adding temporal seating to seating that had none, as well as molecular reconstruction...i don't see any major build issues coming from that since it's just additions, not changes bugs are another matter...and a far bigger issue given cryptic's track record with STO's engine
rannulfr: understood, tepes; who is the commander of your task force? with their permission, i would like to join you on your expedition while the other two carriers in my group remain behind to add to deep space nine's defense in the event of further attacks
*the comm system crackles to life and a deep, resonant voice comes over it* captain rannulfr of the imperium carrier Cúchulainn. we were called here to provide assistance to you - but apparently you didn't need any yourself
