i think those were plasma torpedoes, because they were spherical, not teardropical (yes, i know this isn't a word, but it is now, damnit!) like cannon bolts usually are
probably because, aside from one 3 second scene in BOBW 2, the borg were never shown to use any type of bolt weapon of course, you'd think that 3 second scene would be enough excuse to make cannons
it was probably lockbox because it's the least desirable of all borg ships - mainly because it isn't a 'real' borg ship, since it wasn't created by the collective, nor is it a simple geometric shape
the borg DO discriminate - they flat out refuse to assimilate kazon, and (in STO) they place klingons at low priority because of 'negative cultural distinctiveness' and the case of the kazon isn't them being 'primitive' - the borg have assimilated other primitive species before
just out of curiosity OP, how much did you pay for your borgernaut since you say you got one? like, what did you consider a 'reasonable price'? i managed to sell one for 750m early this morning, and i actually discounted a small amount from the rest that were posted to ensure a faster sell, but i know 750m is above the…
(well, i can't actually do anything about raneson right now either - because A: alex is...i don't even know where i left him and matt is in no condition to speak to ANYONE currently and B:...seven isn't even here at present also...i managed to pull a borgernaut with just 20 keys, and i wasn't even trying for it - sold it…
pretty sure someone on the dev team said a few times it's definitely going to be in the disco era - specifically in between S1 and 2, IIRC but that, like all things, is subject to last-minute changes
it isn't just that 'earthly shells having some special significance' nonsense - some humans just get squicky about eating themselves, no matter what beliefs they hold, others have no issues with it, also no matter their belief system
(oh, i'm not learning how to do art - i'm just learning enough of the program to make a reference of alex that i can use to commission a ref sheet from an actual artist...once i get enough money to afford one and i can find one that is both available for commission and draws in a style i like and both the midyear mayhem…
(...there's a digimon MMO? how come nintendo or whoever owns pokemon won't make one?! christ, you'd think they'd be all over the MMO train - i guess maybe because, unlike digimon, their console games actually succeeded and yes, it is VERY time-consuming, especially when multiple MMOs are running events - this was far less…
(i said that i was back and caught up, not that i would be re-joining things - i have enough free time now to make posts that don't require thought or effort, not enough to make ones that do, especially since in addition to all that with playing 4 MMOs at once, i'm also dinking around with paint.net trying to learn basic…
whether eating sapient species is right or not isn't the point i was making - it was that eating something OUTSIDE your species is no more cannibalism than any species capable of applying wisdom, logic and reason to any action they take is sentient - which it isn't, it's sapient, and everyone needs to STOP FLUFFING GETTING…
(honestly...i'm not particularly up to continuing that thread - and i can't at present anyway; i'm working my way through CO, STO, NWO and ESO things right now, and 3/4 of those games currently have events going, so it isn't just quick daily stuff (even though the daily stuff isn't all that quick either) that i can be done…
('Vulcans are not typically known for their love of games.' what do you think kal-toh is? and yes, i FINALLY have some actual free time and am fully caught up now - not that it seems like there was much to catch up on...unless i missed something, you don't seem to have gotten very far in-universe timewise)
the decoy not being shot is a GOOD thing - the damage immunity only lasts as long as it's alive; if it dies before the 10 seconds are up, you get screwed out of immunity
not that interesting - that functionality's been in the game for years; the now-removed guardian of forever two-parter from the klingon war arc had it where you could immediate start the next mission from the surface of gateway
so, seeing that the special traits on the two ships they've revealed details for indicates they're ACCOUNT-WIDE unlocks...i seriously hope that isn't a one-off thing and they're prototyping a system for making ALL traits account-wide unlocks, because having to swap away from a properly equipped ship, stapling random…
what makes you think it was a typo and not deliberate? cocaine and cochrane are just different enough that it would take some major keystroke FUBAR to get one from the other accidentally
i would prefer picking any unique item as a reward also gave you a crafting recipe for making additional copies through R&D...and lockbox weapons too, for that matter; if cryptic wants to keep people opening weapon packs, they could just make the crafting require unique components that the packs drop - would actually get…
it also makes sense to build starship components that need to be able to withstand extreme stress in an environment that actually HAS some amount of stress - like gravity that reason is why we see so many terrestrial shipyards in addition to orbital facilities in star wars too
