  • @pritch The event that gives you a free T6 ship has started. Make sure you start doing the event ASAP so you can get it. Even if the ship doesn't fit your play style or isn't what you want for any other reason, it is still worth getting. Not only do you get to experiment with flying it, but, it's also another admiralty…
  • Welcome to endgame. As for a ship, I recommend you get a few million more EC. Then buy a ship upgrade token, and a T5U ship that you can upgrade. You can get them on the exchange. It will be adequate for endgame, but not game breaking. Admiralty and Duty Officer assignments (AKA, DOFFing) can help you get some of that EC.…
  • If I may add a few things to the discussion... There is also a crossbow shaped weapon as a mission reward. I think it's from the Kobali, but I'd have to look it up. Capt. Picard was also shot with a bow and arrow. ("We have angered the Picard...") If someone wants it, I'm not opposed. To be picky, Sulu actually had a…
  • The admiralty card would be so much more useful if it was "+20 Tac and Sci". With only 21 Sci, it will see much less use. Still, not complaining. I'll still try to get it. I might actually fly it, if it's at least as durable as the Husnock.
  • The pics of Romulan uniforms above all look good. I might use them. I think adding more options of any kind is always a good thing. On the one hand, not everyone will use them. On the other hand, more options may motivate more players to play a given race. (I'll just briefly mention that more playable races and certain…
  • @"phoenixc#0738" I like your write up of Romulan history. I will admit that I didn't consider the dilithium issue, and it is a fair point. Still, there are easy ways around it. The Remans are excellent miners. If the devs wanted, they could have the Remans find dilithium on New Romulus or anywhere else in Republic space.…
  • Ok, I see your point, and I respect that. The problem is that the playable Borg is the only thing I want out of the LTS package, and there's no way I'm paying $200 to get it. I really want it, and I would pay a fair price for it, but not that much. The LTS package should be such a bargain that Free players have to pay more…
  • First of all, my friend, I called your suggestion exactly that; a suggestion. I'm sorry if I was a little blunt in calling your suggestion ridiculous. I believe I've already explained why playing as a modified/alien fed does not solve the problem. Besides, there is no fed ship that looks like a Romulan warbird. I,…
  • HERE-HERE!!! Yes, plenty of us like the Romulan Republic story. Playing as Tal Shiar is, to me, like playing as Section 31. I've tried games where you can play as the bad guy. It's just not my thing.
  • Ever since I was a kid, I've been watching Star Trek and reading Trek novels. In TOS, the Romulans were more of a proud and honorable warrior race, and I've especially enjoyed the EU novels set in the TNG era which made the Romulan culture and personality more like they were in TOS. The TNG episode "Reunification" was one…
  • Give? It was suggested that they should sell it.
  • I really don't see the problem with making one Romulan or Reman ship that looks like a warbird, but has a warp core and plays like a standard cruiser that everyone else gets to use. As much as I've been asking for a ship like that, I never said that all singularity cores had to go. My best character is Romulan, but the…
  • Thank you! I've been asking for this for a while. I hope they do this some day. As far as new factions go, I would love to see Cardassians, with Garak being the narrator and voiceover. I know...I know...It's not going to happen. But, it would've been cool, instead of how the devs chose to handle the Cardassians.
  • First of all, sirboulevard, thank you for the article. Now, do I understand this part right? The Solanae sphere can crank out warbirds fairly quickly, but the problem is making the traditional singularity core...right? Maybe they could make some ships faster if they used Romulan hull designs with warp cores. The Suliban…
  • Cold is right about everything he is saying about food service. I could tell you how long I've worked in the food industry, (Hint: it's more than 20 years) and my opinions on the matter. Instead, I will tell you what we were taught when I got one of my certifications. Professionals and psychologists have studied the number…
  • Pirates, mercenaries, rebels, Romulans, Ferengi, Borg (sort of), alternate universe/timeline versions of factions or races, or a race that is new to the game.
  • @rattler2 I mostly agree with you. Until tetryon relatively recently got some love, tetryon and plasma were competing for the worst spot. I'm not going to argue as to which one was worse, but my basic point remains. As long as I've been playing, plasma has been one of the worst, if not the worst, beam types in the game. I…
  • To answer the OP's question, I honestly think plasma beams are supposed to be the worst in the game. I think it's intentional design. There has always been one beam type that is more powerful than the others. Granted, that beam type has changed over the years. Once it was antiproton, then it was disruptor, etc. It's never…
  • @alcyoneserene Simply put, I want a ship that my Romulan characters can fly that looks Romulan and fits my playstyle. I like to fly cruisers. TAC ships, science vessels and "Warbirds" don't work for me. Believe me, I've tried them. I appreciate your suggestion, and I looked into it. The first three ships aren't cruisers,…
  • Pass for me, for two reasons. 1) They are TAC ships. I only fly cruisers. And if I wanted a break from cruisers, I have enough SCI and TAC ships already. 2) The Romulan ship has a singularity core, and not a warp core, despite the announcement about sharing technologies and Factions helping each other design ships. The set…
  • Getting back to the article and it's announcement, it really sounded to me that the factions would be sharing technologies and designing new ships together. Here is one quote from the article. "Representatives of the ACSDB also announced inaugural programs for new Romulan and Jem’Hadar starships that utilize allied…
  • I won't buy into the gamble box game. If Cryptic isn't selling the ship (or giving it away) then they are not really offering the ship. I don't buy chances. I am not into Discovery. Maybe I will be someday, but not right now. TNG is my favorite, although I did watch TOS back in the day when it was the only Trek available,…
  • Will this finally be the Romulan cruiser with a warp core that I have been wanting forever?
  • Yeah, I could rant about how I feel they dropped the ball on TOS, but I will limit my comments to being constructive. Yes, they should definitely add a T6 version of the starter ship to the C-store. After reading this thread, I will look into TOS options from the C-store for my one and only TOS character. (Right now he…
  • This is one of the things that some of us Romulan players have been requesting for a long time. The decision makers, Cryptic and/or CBS, have been ignoring said requests and then can't figure out why more people don't play as Romulan. It also seems more logical for Klingons to be able to fly a Vulcan ship (T'Pau), which is…
  • I think they should've found ways to improve the foundry. I would've used it a lot more if a few things were different, but I guess it's a moot point now.
  • Actually, in the US Army, a soldier is allowed to bring his own personal weapon into combat. I know of a man who did a tour of duty in Iraq who brought his own 9mm Hi-Point pistol with him. The Hi-Point is considered a low quality pistol by civilian standards, never mind military. I'm pretty sure they would have let him…
  • I'm going to side with Somtaawkhar on this one. I wasn't around when the TFO's were as described, but I will say this. If the only way to get the Tommy gun was to play again and again with the drop rates being talked about, then I doubt I'd play them. I much prefer the "no captain left behind program" to the grindfest of…
  • Wow, this conversation has become something far different than I thought it would. I never suggested that handguns were the ultimate Borg killing weapon. In fact, I would expect that any handgun would be weaker than a shotgun or a Tommy gun. I only want handguns (or at least one) in the game for the novelty of it. They…
