  • The thing is, even: XX XXXX TRIBBLE XX XX would still be a better layout - because you wouldn't have six low level engineering stations fighting coolodown time on 5 powers. Optimal? No. Would I buy it? No. Better then what we have? Yes. The current Galaxy - her biggest weakness is you can't use all the powers she can slot…
  • No changes to her on Tribble yet, but they might be holding the build that has the new graphics in it until closer to release so it isn't mined like everything else. Though I won't be holding my breath on that one...
  • The problem is - if the new T6 is far enough in game to have 'hints' for people to find, it's too far done for anything cosmetic to be added and/or changed. So we're at a case of 'It's done and awesome' or it isn't and /sigh. At this point in the game, anything that could/would be changed are a serious model error and ship…
  • It's the 'third set console' that has me curious. Are we going to get something awesome the Galaxy did in the show? Torpedo Spread Sierra - Torpedo High Yield 2/3 on 4/5 targets in firing arc? The heavy deflector beam from Best of Both Worlds? - The MACO beam isn't the same thing at all - this would be a 'sustained 10…
  • The Guardian isn't an exploration cruiser. However a new T6 exploration cruiser is coming. First - they screwed up and listed a third console to the Galaxy 3 piece set, they fixed it really fast. Second, on Reddit someone posted the graphic to the new T6 Exploration cruiser's hull graphic (the thing that shows your health…
  • My thought on the consoles is - most cruisers get the 5th eng console, and the Galaxy at T5U already has a 5th eng console, so I don't see her successor getting something different. The Fleet variant got a 5th eng console, the T5U variant got a 3rd tac console. So I think the safest assumption is - a T5U and T6 will have…
  • Don't get me wrong, a 'Pathfinder' layout for the Galaxy will make me quite content. I'd prefer different, but if we get a Pathfinder-esque layout for the new T6, I'll buy it.
  • You're right, Targ. I was being unhappily optimistic. Actually, looking at the Pathfinder again, the Pathfinder doesn't have a second ltcom station. If it's a pathfinder copy, we're going to get: lt tac/command, comm eng, ltcom eng, lt sci, lt uni. with 5 eng, 3 sci, 2 tac consoles. Hope that gets switched to 5 eng, 2 sci,…
  • Considering the extra engineering console is the 'fleet console', the T6 Exploration should come with: 4 Eng, 3 Sci, 3 Tac console layout. With eventual T6 Fleet being 5, 3, 3. I expect them to try to keep the Trinity going with the 'Big 3' - as much as I dislike it. So for layout, we're honestly probably looking at: Lt…
  • Considering the Pathfinder and such don't have the intel pod, I seriously doubt the Galaxy will have Inspiration. I'd LOVE it to, but I doubt it will.
  • I agree completely - I'd prefer the Galaxy to have command powers. They 'fit her' better. But - if everything else is awesome for me except for the hybrid seat being pilot - I could live with it.
  • I was just curious because it's a (relatively) small request. The art assets are already in game, they're already designed to connect to Venture and Galaxy pylons. The ability to remove the third nacelle is in the game because when the Galaxy X was first released you could remove the third nacelle and pylon.
  • Well, someone posted a list of 'maybe' pilot powers - so... I think I could live with it having a lt eng/pilot seat. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=22867431&postcount=73
  • My base line on buying is a command tiered pathfinder layout. Lt tac, Comm eng, ltcom eng/com, ltcom Sci, lt uni is my base for 'will I buy'. I don't care how gorgeous it is, how awesome the new skin and console are - if it isn't fun to fly and reasonably competitive - I'm not biting this time.
  • Hmm... Search results... 'New Kazon Stuff' will link to a Reddit page that might show you where you want to go. Even that is 'pushing' what we can do here, though.
  • Considering it's listed along with a Negh'var, and it's classified as an Exploration Cruiser, I'm cautiously optimistic. I just hope they did a beautifying of the Galaxy to go along with it. I'd really be willing to throw Pathfinder pack money at a new Galaxy ship, interior, and 'revamp'. And yes, I know that's wishful…
  • Well, something is definitely coming - and relatively soon. A new hull graphic for a new T6 Explore cruiser was posted on Reddit. Please let us finally have a good looking, actually fun to fly Galaxy...
  • Exactly the boat I'm in. They've spent so long making alts harder to play and less desirable, the 'special rewards' had better be magnificent to even get me to look twice.
  • But with the re-release of the Intrepid as the Pathfinder- they've shown they're willing to go down that path anyway. And while I will double dip for a single ship to upgrade my favorite, I won't double dip on an entire ship pack.
  • The only way I would even consider a T6 flagship - and don't get me wrong, I love the Ody and Bortas - is if it's one ship per faction capable of using the T5 variant's consoles. I'm not double dipping on a 3/6/9 pack of ships. But if it's a single ship per faction, - T6 Odyssey, 1 brand new console, capable of using all…
  • I would buy these variants - especially if they got cleaned up models/textures. Though my preferred layout would be: Galaxy: lt tac, Comm Eng, Lt Eng/Com, Ltcom Sci, lt Uni with 5 eng, 3 sci, 3 tac consoles. Galaxy X: Ltcom Tac, Comm Eng, lt Eng/Com, lt Sci, lt Uni with 5 eng, 2 sci, 4 tac consoles. I do have to say - with…
  • I think it would be neat if one of the Galaxy class options was 'no saucer'. You can choose to be a fully combat oriented Galaxy with 250 crew - and never have a saucer. A saucer sepped Galaxy would swap it's ltcom tac and ltcom eng stations whenever the saucer was separated - whether this is from never having a saucer or…
  • My problem with the Dauntless and her slipstream is - as far as we know - she's pedestrian at slipstream. Voyager copied the tech, chased Dauntless in the slipstream, disabled her, flipped a U and made UP that distance and several hundred more light years before it wore on the ship too much to maintain. My opinion on the…
  • My opinion on the Iconian lady vaping the Klingon Council is - she killed the only people in the room who weren't in military grade armor and personal shield generators. Granted, she wiped out very high level Klingon politicians - but... If she had lashed out at Tuvok, the PC, Shon, and the rest - she might have got a few…
  • If you like the Odyssey - I'd go for it. The tac variant at T5U is still one of the top 5 Fed cruisers (your mileage may vary). While she can't use Command or Intel powers - she has a very solid officer/console layout and performs extremely well in Delta Rising content. And the most important part of a Star Trek game is -…
  • And that is the problem. If there's so little endgame content that they have to pace you playing - we have way bigger problems then Argala. There is no other MMO that tries to keep you from maxing your levels. Every other game tries to shove you to max level so they can only make new content.
  • The problem is - they aren't leaving the option for those stubborn enough to grind Argala and Gerren. The changes to the queues give more xp - true. But lets take an averge ISA group. If you can run ISA in 7 or 8 minutes for 3,000 - 5,000 xp, this is still a massive drop in xp earned over 2 or 3 Gerran for 5200 xp per run.…
  • You buy the ship as cheaply as you can. Transfer your character with the unopened box to tribble. Open it on Tribble and play around. If you decide you like it, pop back to live and open the real one. If you don't, sell it and make 90-100% of your funds back. If you want to test a lobi ship - keep transfering a character…
  • I just don't get the reasoning behind the patrol nerf. If a player wants to spend 40 hours running one map over and over - let him/her. If they're botting or cheating in someway - absolutely - punish them. But for a person using their playtime in a boring as hell activity - they deserve any points they earn in there. How…
  • The 'death' of the Enterprise D was just too ignoble. There are so many better ways for her to go then 'ancient BOP getting lucky shots'. How about 'Battle Section detonates warp core to seal/repel the nexus' - or 'warp jumping into the path of the Trilithium warhead - and the warhead doing insane damage. No, we got the…
