Well fun is subjective so I don't really see what your point is. There's more that goes into why "older" ships should be relevant beyond the fun factor. This, however, has already been discussed and believe it or not having a T6 ship makes your build better. So much so that I took a build from a T5-U (that was vastly under…
That's a good point but it's not fair when I can't have fun in the ship I, and others, want to fly. Moreover it's more-so unfair that I will have to pay again for said ships. Assuming a refit is even available at all. Im subbed to your YouTube channel by the way! :D... nice to meet you... more-or-less :)
This is true! Very good point cidstorm, I hadn't thought of that but you are right. They didn't tell us T6 variants were coming out out all so we were more-so coaxed into, once again, buying into their system. Which, again, is another reason why I'm kinda ticked by how this progression was implemented.
That's fair! I'll give you that but due to my circumstances it's still not enough to bite the bullet. This is how it played out for me... I got a bonus on my check and finally was gonna buy something nice for myself in STO after it having been so long that I hadn't. So I bought the Galaxy bundle.... the very next day DR…
Well put! I'd agree with you however I, personally, will be much more reserved when buying into their system. Also, unfortunately, the T6 refits (at fleet level) do render your T5-Us obsolete. I touched on a few of your points in the post above. :)
*sigh* No, as people have mentioned there are T6 refits of those same ships. That is the right way to go... what was stupid however was the whole T5-U nonsense. In essence T5-U was suppose to upgrade or refit my old T5s. Yet, coincidentally, the T6 refits would be just that. Which, as a result, rendered our T5-Us obsolete…
I did say that creative freedom is secondary right? I believe so... anyone who read it would agree That I did say .... Since this a franchise the franchise comes first. Yes the licensing gives Cryptic the rights to create content within the franchise. But it doesn't mean that they can disregard what has already been…
Creative freedom is secondary when you pick up a title license that already has an active fan base associated with it. Not to mention that the whole marketing strategy is to hook in Trekkies... throwing aside what makes Trek, Trek for the sake of creative freedom undermines almost the entire point of the game to begin…
Although that's true I never said LTS can't cash in on the opportunity as well. You also have to take into account that LTS is guaranteed that 500 Zen whereas those logging in only have the opportunity to get more. But, again, LTS would be able to get more as well so it's still balanced.
This idea has potential but 30 days for 1 master key is just terrible. I'd say 1 month for either a low tier ship or a zen package of its value (1000-1500 Zen) that would reset every month with no lockouts. I rather be able to choose my reward than be stuck with whatever they feel like giving me because that's pretty much…
The issue with Delta Rising and the level cap increase and subsequently the bump in ship tier is both the players and the devs fault. The players for years wanted a level cap increase and were pushing it more and more come 9-12 months before they announced Delta Rising. But the devs on the other hand acted too late and…
I'll be honest here... my subscription just ended in another game so I'm not necessarily obligated to any particular game at the present. That being said it would be nice to have been included in these rewards. As others have said, it would be great incentive to get people back to playing the game. However, truth of the…
That would mean the re-acquisition metric is > the metric active players are inherently contributing towards. That still doesn't seem all that fair to me.
You do know your whole argument boils down to your belief that fairness is subjective and is in no way objective, right? That being said I agree with thegrandnagus and if you are not necessarily bothered one way or another by the email than what exactly are you trying to convey and why are you trying to convey it? I'm not…
Please keep in mind I intentionally said "if" to provide the opportunity for Cryptic/PWE to rescind or deny the email/promo on the case of falsehood. However, if they will maintain that the email/promo is legit than I think it is only fair that those applicable be provided the same opportunity to claim this reward. Now…
^^^ This is true and again, assuming this is legit, I will not accept a backsies on account of their wording. I think that would just make matters worse.
o.0 Where's the value in that when that available avenue is not fun? Does that not defeat the whole point of a game? It's like a magazine service.... you can pay to get the latest issue at release OR you can not pay and go dumpster diving for your neighbor's old copy which he/she may or may not have even received and…
I'm sorry but that only happens to the people dumb enough to buy into the system which, again, is personal circumstance just as thegrandnagus1 said. Now in regards to this "promotion" if you will, assuming it's legit, I would like to know the pre-qualifications or prerequisites the people responsible for this promo is…
$30 USD every two months is insignificant to the amount of money-grabs and grind in STO. Everything (outside subscription) in SWTOR is vanity. Everything ,(outside of subscription) which is roughly 97%, is FAR from vanity (excluding outfits but that's negligible since Crptic/PWe gives them away anyways) so if you were to…
You're probably right but then again, if that were the case, it would just make more sense to just say "subject to change" than to haphazardly dissuade people. Nonetheless, I will come here for info. when the "official" blogs come out (which, ironically, normally say "subject to change" anyways) I will check those for…
Do you not see the difference though? the OP can dissimulate the info as it comes whenever whereas you need to wait for an "all-clear".... it might undermine your job but it's much more preferable if people are going to come to the forums at all for information. On that note, thanks OP!
For me, the only thing interesting is that we can acquire ships..... seeing as how these will only be representations, This is more potentially worthless than it may seem.
Ugh... another reputation? ffs! However, on the plus side apparently we will actually be able to explore for once. But if the Admiralty system is anything like the DoFF system than I think it's safe to say that it too wil be tedious. *sigh*
Yeah, I catch your meaning. I was still playing a futile game of catch-up after Delta Rising and then all this Herald and Iconian stuff popped up... meanwhile I was also partaking in Risa for the new ship. But let me step back..... I STILL haven't even got 1 of my 11 characters to 60 yet. Air-go, I haven't even gotten…
I'm honestly surprised.... The Admiralty System actually doesn't seem to be a grind-fest. But why do I get the feeling that in order for the system to even be worth bothering with, we will have to re-gear our inactive ships? I mean it's logical but would be just another grind to add to the mix. I will reserve my judgment…
