I came back after many months away from the game and played a little PvP. Ahh, the memories flooded back. Memories of OP rubbish, vaping and elitism. Time to load up World of Tanks, I think...
None, really. I've done each episode multiple times on all of my 17 toons. Rather than make more and more ships to play the same content over and over again they should be making more content to play with the vast number of ships already in the game.
Why not make it faster? Why not just press a button and be there? It's not like Star Trek was based around exploration and travelling to cool places or anything...
This game focuses too much on new ships/gear, new maps but not enough to do. A map as big as Risa should have twice as many things to do and those things should laster than the events already in place do. There should also be non-timed events. Maybe some random events that occur at random times plus events that are…
Man, that ship is UGLY. It looks like The Artist Formerly Known as Prince gained access to the digital design file for the D'Kora and then had an epileptic fit at the keyboard. The Ferengi often got reduced to a joke in the TV series. A little too much for my liking. I did find that STO treated them better than the series…
Agreed. Many of the players I used to play with no longer play. I rarely play. I have to admit that I do see longtimers fading away. At the end of the day Cryptic has nobody but themselves to blame for this, though.
I've been playing Elite: Dangerous. Want a ship? You earn it in game by using trading, exploration, bounty hunting, mining or piracy. None of these silly ice races and hover races. No ships are real-money-paid only. The game is sandbox. There's true exploration. Far from fruitless, it's been very fruitful.
Retiring unique ships like the Risian ships is a bad move. Sure, they may not be as powerful as the new T6 ship that will replace it, but not everyone flies particular ships because they're the end-all, be-all or power. Some people (like me) fly ships because they like how they look or fly or how their seating is. This is…
Going back to the topic, maybe if the transactions were a little more micro I would start spending again. Ships cost too much and I'm tired of lockboxes. Personally I think they should sell content, not ships. Sure, a lot of people may complain about paywalls but at the moment we get more and more powerful ships faster…
I've not spent any money on this game since last year and I've noticed my wallet is decidedly fatter. And I'm loving it. The gouging in this game is ludicrous but people encourage it by feeding it. As an aside, I just started playing Elite:Dangerous. I paid the purchase price of the game and that's it. New ships ships are…
The conversion rate was known in advance. The cost of items/services that required dil was not. I wan't affected by it but I still for the people who were cheated by the conversion.
If his principles dictate that he not get the ships then why would anyone try to convince him to do otherwise? That's doing him a disservice. Me, I like the fact that he stuck by his guns.
I used to get most ships as I have heaps of toons and would like to fly a different ship every day, even if that ship wasn't uber powered. I just liked the variety. Of late I've closed the purse strings as I really don't like the direction the game has taken. Personally, I see a trend of "power swings" and I'm a bit tired…
Even before T6 ships were released they were obsolete. Now, even more so. The power creep in this game will always ensure obsolescence. It's been like that forever. No reason for it to change now.
I see your point, but look at old paid ships, like the D'Kyr and MVAM, etc. They're completely obsolete. If Cryptic had real skill those ships, and others of their ilk would still be relevant. But they're not.
It's not that you can't get things for free, it's the fact that new paid gear makes old paid gear obsolete. If Cryptic were skilled game makers they'd find a way to make new paid gear different but not superior. Instead of the only relevant ships and gear being the newest stuff, they'd make it so that every new release…
Yes, people who design the ships don't fix bugs. BUT The persistent bugs in this game have gone on for years. If Cryptic was serious about fixing them they would have either hired more people for the specific purpose of fixing the game or replacing the current people if they weren't performing. Cryptic cares only for…
I've not been enjoying the direction the game has taken over the past year. Based on that, no, I'm not looking forward to them as I'm not going to be spending any money on keys. Combine that with the fact that these ships look so very meh, and I think you get the idea.
I have many, many toons, each of them with up to 5 ships. Each time I play a toon I change ship, just to vary up the game. Why? Because even though it's not realistic for a captain to change ships all the time, this game is far from realistic AND my toons are Admirals, a rank that don't realistically go out flying all the…
Firstly, how do you know how much I play, secondly, this gear isn't released yet, thirdly, it's hard to hear you over the sound of your sheepish bleating.
