It looks like the trigger to start the conversation is not large enough or is in the wrong spot. Since I'm trying to complete missions in story order, this is basically game-breaking for me.
I'm looking for a few more reviews of "The Tyranny of Hope" to get it out of review. So far, 4 people have given it 5 stars. While 3 of those were my mom, because I'm the smartest most handsomest boy in school, at least 1 real person really liked it!
Hi all, Thanks to those who have played "Welcome to the Milky Way"! I've received very positive reviews. The next mission in the series, "The Tyranny of Hope", will be out next weekend (baring any disasters). Releasing missions right after an expansion isn't the best, but I'm gonna go for it anyway.
When I first started exploring the idea of creating a mission, I googled everything. I looked through the options in the foundry editor, reading the terms and options. If something didn't make sense, I'd google it or look around on the sto foundry forums. Researching step-by-step worked out well. Things in the foundry…
I didn't think my own playthroughs contributed to the reward qualifications. Well, that would explain something, I think. When I test the mission with a live character, I'll click through the dialog until I get to the part I'd like to test. Thank you for the review! Glad you liked it. I appreciate it.
Thank you all for the suggestions! This is very helpful. With so many "get your X accolade" foundry missions, it's difficult to know how many people are going to the foundry for stories and how to get their attention. My mission is out of review! I'm now faced with the dreaded "no rewards" message. I believe this may be…
Update: I tuned the battle a bit. I did think it might be too difficult for players who are not max-level and in the fanciest c-store ship. Hope you can finish it up!
Thanks for the feedback! Tuning combat can be a challenge. My preference is to have 1 or 2 battles per mission, but make them difficult so that they feel important to the story and not just a "token space battle". I typically run the mission several times on three different characters (1 of each class) to balance combat as…
Hi uncle2fire, I'm sorry to hear that. I tested the battle several times with different ships on my characters and it was difficult, which is intended. However, if it is too difficult, I'll take a look at it. If you don't mind, would you let me know which ship you used? Also, was the Cardassian ship present for the fight?…
When you're trying to get ships to move to a point and stop or warp in, I find that it's easier to setup when you're moving as well. The warp in effect also has a tendency to loop over and over. I found that you can make it work with some trial and error. 1. Set your objective object or marker a fair distance away. 2.…
This limitation has put a lot of fun ideas on hold, for sure. Like the other posters, I've toyed around with "traps" however they've never worked for me. I have a simple but rather underwhelming suggestion, which is to include [ooc] dialog that tells the player to leave their boffs behind in a location and continue on…
I would like to assist. I've spent a great deal of time and money on the game and love Star Trek. I have a tech background and would enjoy putting some of my free time towards this effort.
I've heard that someone is aware of this at Cryptic. Here's a link to what I see in every mission. I wish the hundreds of dollars I've spent in the C-Store could somehow translate to them fixing the foundry.…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_artifact Hardware malfunction: In computer graphics, visual artifacts may be generated whenever a hardware component such as the processor, memory chip, cabling malfunctions, etc. causing data corruption. Malfunction may be caused by physical damage, overheating, insufficient voltage,…
Let's not spread work-arounds to problems that shouldn't exist. There are so many variations of this problem, that one simply "do this!" isn't going to fix it for everyone. For example, this did not work for me. The bug needs to be fixed. We shouldn't have to come up with several annoying steps to fix something like this…
I say disable the loadout system, if that's causing the issue. Which it may not be. I'd rather not have to re-add all of my skills back to the bar after every transition in exchange for no loadout system. I want a Breen ship. I want to play. Then I remember how annoying it is to play the world's worst mini-game and go back…
I am seriously regretting purchasing a lifetime sub and the operations pack, plus the hundreds I've spent on C-Store stuff. This bug has been affecting all of my characters for months now and it's completely ruined my play experience. I've already added to this forum with more info, so have 50 pages worth of players.…
Just some info, I did try this originally without success. When I return to the loadout area and click to enable one, it puts some items back into the tray and rearranges others, but does not return the several missing items.
On daenara@contactpsi, I logged in to find that most of the items on my action bars are missing. This is also happening on aesculapius@contactpsi and now seems to have migrated to another character somehow.
This continues to worsen on aesculapius@contactpsi Anytime I log out and back in, transition to a planet, starship bridge, sometimes another space zone, over half of every action bar row loses skills. They're blank. I have to drag 5-10 skills back to the bar after every transition or logout. I've changed ships, it's now…
Character Name: Aesculapius@contactpsi First, I setup my action bar for my ship. I locked the action bar. I beam down to a planet or visit my starship bridge, ESD, etc. When I return to the ship tactical view, the action bar is reset and several slots are empty. Some of the items remain, such as my captain abilities,…
Well said. I completely agree with most of that. I enjoy the game quite a bit and am very pleased with the new additions. One of the things I love about STO is that there is so much to do. You could spend all of your time in one aspect of the game and then switch around to others and not run out. It's very complex and fun,…
