My hardware is incompatible with Outside.

I'm not convinced it was them. I'm not sure they have the bandwidth in the entire country to do the sony hack. Of course it's possible they had people leave the country to do it, but the evidence the fbi has given the news seems really slim to me.

windows 8.1 isn't bad for most users. Just download classic shell. http://www.classicshell.net/ It's free and makes it feel like a normal windows version without the weird start menu it normally has.

Yup and because of the energy requirements for brains, it's more likely that intelligent life will be carnivorous. Carnivores have things with territory typically, so as the civilization and technology advances, the species eventually wiping themselves out could be almost guaranteed.

I don't know if it's ever been touched upon in anything but it could also be that assimilation is written into the borg's ai side similar to AI in Asimov's creations having the 3 laws. Only choices that allow the eventual assimilation of a target are allowed.
