Well, the 5/3 is required by the current cookie cutter built. And as much as I hate to admit it, doing other builts may work to some extend, but requires more effort for substantially less performance in return. Most advanced/elite STF are pure DPS checks and designed for aoe spam. Therefore cookie cutter is the entry…
1) What is your overall impression of STO right now? The new episodes are fun. Cryptic designed ships are still ugly as sin. The current metagame (braindead spam of BFAW/AP beams ) sucks. 2) What is your favorite aspect of the game? Episodes and Space STF. 3) What is your least favorite aspect of the game? The constant…
One reason why I'm in favour of Cardies as c-store species is that one could simply include one Galor in the bundle. Cardassian char + char bound Galor + whatever costume unlocks. Done. There is no automatism for a new faction. Cryptic already struggles to release Klingon and Romulan faction specific versions of whatever…
As long as they are called Kor, Kang and Koloth classes I'm on bord. Yes, we have to rename that T1 B'rel skin, but there is already precedence with the Avenger class. If we get specialized BoP's, that may come at a price. Namely the universal boff stations we enjoy at the moment. So, what is it going to be ? Science/Intel…
I for my part would be perfectly happy to buy an upgrade token for my KDF ships from season to season. Most Cryptic designs are so damn ugly, I don't buy them anyway. (See the Klingon command BC's) So, just let me upgrade my B'rel and Vor'cha to keep them up to date. It's even canon ! Regarding the science ship for KDF.…
Currently I have to decide between the handling, boff layout and Vor'cha costume on one hand, and a 5/3 weapons layout on the other. Just gimme that T6 Vor'cha with 5 forward guns.
Well, I for my part have no issues paying to upgrade my ships and do my part to keep the game running. T6 versions of iconic ships with decent boff layout. Great ! However, when I logged in and all my boffs were gone my mood changed a bit. So, instead of directly buying the new ships, I started an episode. Some ground…
Yeah, seems like the best plan for the moment. Still a bit undecided which char I should start leveling first. My old main is the Klingon tac, but I can't decide between Tor'kaht (handling, looks, Boff layout) and Mogh (5/3 weapon layout is just better for cannon boats) My Andorian tac has no such issues, Charal ftw. Or I…
Nothing wrong with that. The cryptic guys need to make a living, too. As long as they have something to offer I enjoy I'm happy to spend some money on the game. The majority of the replies encouraged me to just upgrade the ships I enjoyed so far. Maybe my Rom engineer will get a fleet D'Deridex or this Aelahl warbird at…
No, not going for pvp in STO. For that I've got war thunder. I just enjoy playing a spaceship game from time to time, and there STO was quite ok. I usually prefer flying canon ships, but I don't want to be a burden for my team. One of my favourite ships was the fleet Tor'kaht with Vor'cha skin. That's what I've got for my…
I wouldn't change the boff slots on my Tor'kaht. Now that tac team and eng team are on independend cd's, it's perfect. However, I would move one weapons slot from stern to bow, to keep up with power creep. Fed side, I would like to have a Galaxy like this: Lt Cmdr Tac *** Cmdr Eng **** Lt Eng ** Lt Sci ** Ens Sci *
I don't know why this thread pops up every now and then. Why do we NEED to have a higher population ? I'm very happy with zone chat on Qo'nos. I have no issues with queues (most of them are x-faction anyway) and endgame content is same for everyone, too. Granted, there could be more ships (especially for the KDF minors)…
In the end they lost money by giving the the 4th tac slot to the fugly skeleton bop. The 4th eng slot on fleet B'rel has no value to me, so one less fleet ship sold. And I'm not the only one who sees no reason to "upgrade" from the B'rel R. Both ships have the iconic appearance and both have three tac console slots. Six…
All my Romulans are KDF aligned, because all of them use disruptors. Can't imagine a Romulan ship with phasers. Romulan weapons have to be green. As to why plasma: well, plasma used to be the Vulkan energy weapon of choice. Guess the Vulkan unifictionists may have supplied weapons to the young republik.
The chance was there before they released the new cuddly Romulans. They should have done Roms for KDF and Cardassians for Fed. Green cloaky disruptor wielders vs tanky bfaw spammers, Obsidian order vs. Tal Shiar. "Liberated" Jem'Hadar and Remans as side kick for each mini faction and voila, mission accomplished. That would…
Item description is completely misleading. Some of the dual cannons list battlecruisers, raiders and raptors as compatible ship classes. Seems like the Andorian phasers require the ship in the chars hangar. And the spiral wave disruptors are now an char unlock, too.
Ah well, then october may be a good time to check if there is anything new available for KDF. A proper flagship version of the Negh'var would be great. Or a K'Vort destroyer.
Nausicaan for the black market contacts and either a Breen ship (both of them do the trick) or a fleet Scourge as ride. The additional Sci abilty is perfect to slot a tractor beam. Pretty much a must have for any serious pirate or bounty hunter ! Orions may have an interesting livestyle, but somehow their available ships…
I already own a Mogh. Not my cup of tea. Doesn't swing the TRIBBLE around like a Tor'kaht, and doesn't look half as good as a Vor'cha, either. I just want to upgrade the ship I love, not throw it away for a new toy. If this would cost me 4 fsm, I'd pay it. Guess I'm getting old and sentimental. :P Just checked myself…
