  • Maybe a short explanation where I'm coming from is in order. I have given up on pvp in STO, therefore focus is pve. To be more precise: space stf's, cce etc. Which brings me to the point. CCE, fed minefield etc is not just facerolling the keybord and grabbing the loot, it is competitive pve. Both my KDF as well as my Fed…
  • 7 3 KDF (tac, eng, sci) 3 Fed (tac, eng, sci) 1 Rom (tac) Fed and KDF chars to enjoy the differences in gameplay for each class and faction. Rom to play the storyline missions. My KDF tac could be called my main char, since he has most of my played time under his belt. But otherwise, played time is more a result of which…
  • For me, there is enough to do in STO without touching this new content designed for the Asian market and manga kids. Some of the new science consoles I got while testing the new missions are nice, tough.
  • The best part of this new space map is when we get to shoot escape shuttles. Oh yeah. We are not allowed to play "evil" Romulans and got this bogus faction because of it. And then we shoot escape pods. This was first and the last time I played this so called "content". Craptic can stuff themselves and their new…
  • Yes, I don't like this red federation image of the KDF at all. All those aliens on Qonos or on our ships. Bah ! And I would love to learn more about the true motives of the Orions. Or how loyal are the Gorn and consider the Nausicaans their little agreement with the KDF advantageous ? Having standard versions of our minor…
  • Ah I guess that's settled then. KDF players are happy with their old stuff, and see no reason to get competetive toys. Sorry for proposing a buff that would make the Tor'kaht a better (and maybe even competetive) cannon boat without turning it into another aux2battery zombie. Ah well, rumors of Klingon intelligence, they…
  • For starters, there are 18 ESD instances vs 4 first city instances open atm. I tend to believe cryptics numbers are correct.
  • My favourite choice would be Garak. I really liked the Cardassians, and Garak is the only survivor of the DS9 Cardassian main characters. Plus, I would really like to know what happened to him.
  • From the given choices probably Cardassian. On the other hand I already created a pseudo Cardassian char as my fed engineer, and bought him a Galor. No way I will dump that char.
  • I have to find a way to get around the already taken name Koloth. And there is a precedent, I want to follow. And no, I don't want to replace the B'rel refit. The Tor'kaht once was just a mere skin option for the Vor'cha. Now it is a ship with it's very own stats. Same here: remove the Koloth as skin option from T1, and…
  • And the Koloth is a variant of the B'rel. The fleet Tor'kaht has a completely different boff layout compared to a Vor'cha. Which in STO terms means it is a different ship. The only still existing connection between both ships is the interchangeability of parts. The same I would like to have for my triple pack. Different…
  • While the discussion rages on about the size of the ship, most sources list the K'Vort at around 350m for the prime universe. That is nothing outragous, it's the size of our Hegh'ta. In the end I don't care how the ship is named. I just want to fly a BoP with heavy wing cannons as seen in the shows. Heavy wing cannons…
  • Well, regarding the name: guess I'm lucky. The existing Koloth is an alternative skin for the *drumroll* B'rel. Therefore I change the name to: Koloth refit triple pack ! I mean, there has been a precedent where a skin option was turned into a perfectly good ship: Tor'kaht. Regarding 5 forward weapons. Really not what I…
  • My first impulse was, nah, a 300 year old ship ? But then again it makes some sense to indroduce it as science ship. The 3/3 weapons or maybe 4/2 are the maximum such an old ship can take. And why should the empire use perfectly good modern hulls for a support role, when there are those D5 floating around in some boneyard,…
  • I'm looking forward to cruiser commands and the new FE. But I wouldn't call that excitement.
  • Why should Cardassians ally with the Klingons ? Just make them a Fed sub faction and be done with it. They are a Fed protectorate, and could be asked to take their security in their own hands considering the Federation forces are kinda stretched at the moment. To compensate, the KDF allies could get their own subfaction…
  • You have to admit this time it's different. Introduction of the Romulans was something many people have been waiting for. The Forum was full of speculation threads. Quite different to the current situation. How many people are excited about a new grind and dinos with frikkin laserbeams ? At least I'm not.
  • In eve you could have hired some quality mercs and by choice either created or shattered an empire... just saying. As much as I like Star Trek, this game is heading into a strange direction. Just more lose ends in the storyline and a new rep grind every season. \o/
  • It's ugly. As most Cryptic designs. So what ? It is made for war not to win beauty contests.
  • Ah well, good thing they just signed a contract for new wings fleet wide. Guess this contract won't get cancelled, and then the aircraft retired with new wings. :D It's same thing over here in Germany. Whenever the top brass decided to renovate some barracks, it is a dead sure sign they will close down in the next round of…
  • I guess I could say so. I don't like all those alien ships ein Earth/Qonos orbit. On the other hand I can understand the people who don't want to fly second rate ships. I'm guilty myself if you include the Andorian ships as alien. My Fed tac is Andorian, and therefore is in the captains seat of a Kumari.
  • Well, the only ingame weapon that comes close to the heavy fromt mounted disruptor we know from the shows is a DBB. And guess what: they don't even fire from the front section, but from the wings. Something never seen on the shows. It always was either frontsection or nacelles. While it is true that cryptic isn't very good…
  • -own storyline missions 0-20 -own homeworld -at least a c-store triple pack ship so that each career gets a fitting ship at max level. I would prefer two additional ships at t5. One for tac and one for eng captains. Ah well, the above applies to all "minor" races of the KDF. No red Federation anymore ! Make the KDF truely…
  • Hi there. Has someone experimented with the new consoles from the fleet dil mine ? (RCS consoles that double as resistance plating and turnrate improving neutronium plates) D'Deridex is similar to the Galaxy a very iconic ship I would buy just for that reason alone. Under the condition it works somehow. Boff seating is way…
  • Yes, I use torpedoes on every ship I own. Breen rapid fire and cluster on cruiser/science ships and quantum on escorts. Plus Omega torp on Chel Grett and Romulan hypertorp on my plasma beam boat.
  • Bird of Prey. Small but packs a punch, can cloak and fits in my backyard or parking lot of my local licor shop. :D
  • Vandal destroyer. Plasmonic leech is a very nice toy, I use it on most ships I own.
  • Andorians, Cardassians, Gorn, Klingons, Letheans, Nausicaans, Orions. I would just love to see all the KDF minor races get their own level 1-10/20 storylines. I don't like the this KDF=red federation TRIBBLE we have atm.
  • I once was in a similar situation. Therefore I went to tribble test server. There is a console in the fleetyard where you can get the triple pack for testing purposes. Just make sure you copy a char who owns the equipment you plan to use on your example.
  • If it really has to be a race from DS9, then I'll take Cardassians over everything else. They are good soldiers, and are way better at "doing the books" then anyone else. But... Cardassia is a Fed protectorate.
