  • When people can just sit in one spot, toggle on its flail-the-tentacles bubble of death, and pretty much that's it for the entire duration of a team event and make an above-average contribution in the process, yeah that's broken imo. For reference, queuing for the Swarm in last event, I could pretty much just not pay…
  • Cool ship, but honestly I'd rather have a second chance at that ridiculously broken space squid that utterly annihilates anything near it by...literally just sitting there, flailing its tentacles.
  • Every time I want to buy LTS for this game, I look at Mudd's Market and think, "oh, nevermind..."
  • You're right. Breathing perfect food isn't very believable. I can't even breathe normal food.
  • I'm convinced that gear exists literally just to get on people's nerves. :D
  • Since pictures are worth a thousand words or some cliche: And yes, I know you can't salvage commodities/consumables/repair components, so they'd only work with the recycle button. I'm just sick of dealing with this unwanted garbage as it constantly worms its way into my inventory. And standard-issue gear is an annoyance…
  • Of all the annoying tedious bits of nonsense in this game that take away from actual enjoyment (I'm looking at you, reputation system) unlocking starship traits isn't one of them. I'll agree that setting up a new ship is always annoying thanks to junk default gear and the tray never remembering which powers went where. But…
  • Ideas to improve the game? Taking the time to actually balance various abilities would be nice so there's more diversity in what people use beyond "hello I am herald stick/cold fusion/crystal-or-ba'ul turret drone #3678535" Putting all past-event items into the phoenix prize pack instead of trying to sell some of them via…
  • Yeah I heard about that bug. Kind of absurd they won't let you give him a uniform if he's properly set up for it. Also, I totally get that reference. :D
  • One of the first things I tried. Nope, she's grayed out, just like the reman and space potato.
  • While true, a few of those just don't make much sense as player races:* Iconians: It's been awhile since I looked at that arc, but weren't the Iconians few in number? * Heralds: I suppose the argument could be made the same way it was made for Jem'Hadar, but I dunno. As servants of the Iconians, it's a bit sketchy at best…
  • There's no reason to remove existing species, even if they're unpopular. And as mentioned, alien covers a lot of potential species...for the most part. About the only one that it really can't do properly is Photonic--something i'd love to see as a playable "species" someday.
  • Wouldn't at all surprise me if it got shelved for "not living up to their current design standards" or whatever, but it's a lame reason really. Logged on today to run my newer recruit characters through it, but since it's not there, guess I'll just log back off and play something else.
  • Only disconnects I get semi-frequently are when I enter some instanced area--starship bridge, patrol, or queued TRIBBLE.
  • None of the other arguments really matter. This right here is the main reason why it should be allowed going forward for everyone. In far too many situations, the STO team's approach seems to be "if you managed to exploit the bug before we patched it, you can enjoy the spoils" and that's a terrible message to send.
  • Amusingly enough, we also can't use registry number 69, or some variants of it. :)
  • Honestly I'd just like to see more events with single-player objectives instead of the same rushy group-based nonsense. Queues/tuffos/whatever are like my least favorite kind of content in this game, yet every time there's an event, it's queue up or go home. The fact that those haven't been nerfed into the ground yet is…
  • It wouldn't surprise me if instead, they tried to put it in Mudd's market alongside that wretched crystal ground turret, or some other crappy pack like they did with the machine gun.
  • Most of those options suck, so I picked "other." Feeling like I have to run some annoying event on every character, just in case I decide I want a given ship on a given character is pretty terrible, so account-wide removes that bit of stress and also adds a cool sort of New Game+ feeling to starting a new character.
  • I greatly dislike standard STO melee weapons, where you have to press say, 3, then 4, then 3 again or some other annoying combination to do meaningful attacks. It's awkward and just plain irritating given how mobile combat tends to be. If we get more weapons like the nanopulse pistols though...yeah, absolutely. Rifle…
  • Better yet, why can't we just like...get rid of rep drops from boxes entirely and instead, replace box rewards with either salvage or EC plus the occasional rep project token? Improving reputations for new characters is bad enough as it is with all the obnoxious and unnecessary clicking. Adding a trash-stomping minigame…
  • Haha, I tried that with the nanopulse pistols and they're now Mk XII and still blue. Oof! While I know you *can* luck out like that, it's basically gambling and, if it fails, then you've spent a bunch of kits and dil on something you could've just run a mission for at max level. Sometimes worth the try though. No, only…

  • Yeah see I don't buy that at all. As someone who's been able to play with the unrestricted tailor firsthand, I can assure you that most pieces work pretty well together. There's a few that clip, but honestly that isn't even a big deal when you think about it. Champions Online has a lot of things that clip into each other,…
  • Pros:* Lots of playstyle and gear options. I can pretty much pick a theme, gear up for it, and it usually doesn't suck. * Story content is usually pretty decent and scratches the Trek itch. Cons:* Some balance feels pretty arbitrary. Why does my now-pretty old lobi herald stick still feel like one of the best weapons in…
  • Probably not meta, but I really like the Lost Souls of Gre'thor and would actually use carriers more often if I could use them on any ship with a hangar bay. There's just something satisfying about watching swarms of them rush toward enemy ships and burn them to a crisp. I really wish Cryptic would take the time to balance…
  • Level cap increases in this game have been so utterly meaningless. Please no. Edit: To clarify: Level cap increases exist in games mostly to reset power creep and trivialize old content as new layers of content are added, so that players are encouraged to play the new content while ignoring the old. Since this game's…
  • Ugh, add yet another person to the "I claimed this on the wrong character" pile. My main has a crapton of weapons, all of which are better than this. Yeah I get it, free weapon and all that, but with all these account-reclaimable event weapons to choose from, it doesn't make a lot of sense that this is a once-off,…
  • Yeah, that's the one. I was seriously hoping that, as a free player, it'd end up in the phoenix prize pack, but Mudd's is better than nothing. At least I'm not completely shut out from being able to get it, but yeah it definitely needs to go on a massive sale to even be considered as worth it. Ha! No, I'm not that kind of…
