So The Cure: Sniper or High Density?

Hey Guys,

I'm just wondering what other players are using to defend the transformers found in the STF mission the Cure.

When the mission 1st came out everyone used High Density Beams to defend the transformers; however, over time, Snipers became the weapon of choice.

The other day while I was puging the Cure a team member questioned my use of sniper rifles and I explained that I perfered the damage output of a sniper over the repel of a High Density Beam.

I continued to defend the use of my Sniper Rifles till I saw the other player hit a worker drone with his Tetryon High Desity Rifle and send that poor drone half way up the hill behind the transformer we were defending

Not only did that HD beam send that drone flying many times; it did nice damage has well.

At that point my pride would not allow me to ask what mods were on the HD beam but it seemed crazy powerful :o

Have HD weapons been given a upgrade while I was away, are they once again the prefered weapon of choice for defending transformers in the Cure?

While the High Density Rifle does repel an incredibly large distance, it doesnt seem to interrupt the workers' progress. If you look closely, you'll see that the green globe around the workers' hand that indicates he is working does not disappear if you repel him with the HD.

This is working as intended, I believe, as the HD's repel doesn't interrupt an object's actions. So I prefere a sniper rifle whenever i run the cure, plus the CRM 200 with its freeze and expose chance , plus the Science Bioresearch Kit with Tachyon Harmonic(AoE shield drain and chance to knockback) and Stasis Field, I am easily able to guard a Transformer by myself.

    Funny,

I never thought to use that kit to defend the transformers but I will be from now on :D

HD's are effective, but if you don't push them far enough, you will not interrupt their progress. They could be pushed 10 feet away but still drain the transformer.

Also something to note about High Density rifles: they are line AoE. If the workers are between you and the node spawn you could wind up aggroing the whole group.
