Bat'leth source for Federation Characters???

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I've noticed that since the start of Season 3, it is no longer possible for a Federation character to purchase a Bat'leth from the vendors at DS9. This means that the only source for Bat'leth melee weapons for Federation use is the over-priced and unaffordable Exchange...

(Common Mk VI Bat'leth are currently posted for 50,000 on the Exchange... Someone with a Klingon character could make a real 'Killing' on the market under-cutting this price!!! Hint, hint...)

So is it now official STO policy that Federation characters can no longer purchase Bat'leth, (or any other Melee weapons) from Vendors???

I wanna know what happened to the melee weapons the Devs talked about giving us on the Fed side, like the Andorian weapon or possibly a sword. Maybe they are waiting for the PvP revamp to release these.

    hi Sir,

Yes indeed, what happened with the promise of CRYPTIC to get us new melee weapons ? URGENT, because some ppl are taking control of the Bat'Leth prices, so they become overpriced and unplayable for everyone. CRYPTIC should react to this "childish way" of making money on the backs of the Community.

    SHAME on you vendors !!!!

    Eskaton :D

Step 1: Have friends or failing that, join a fleet. Someone will have a high level Klingon.
    Step 2: Ask nicely
Step 3: Get free Bat'leth or get one crafted from your materials.

You can still buy a purple Mk X Bat'leth at Battle Group Omega for 35 Marks of Valor. For some reason it's hidden at the bottom of the antiproton personal weapons list.

They are probably waiting until their big combat upgrade is done before they add more melee stuff.

Hi there. I am the owner of a Fleet on both the Federation Side and the Klingon Side. If you /tell me in game and provide the Data Samples I will gladly craft you a Mk XI Very Rare Bat'Leth.

While I am not in any fleet in either faction I have a capped KDF crafter and will glaldly craft any Bat'leth you want. The MK XI purple requires 30 Technical schematics and 3 Antithoron trace particles {I will cover the schematic...but if you care to send 10 Alien Artifact that would be cool}. The Mk X blue is not too shabby either and is only 30 Photonic Technology. I am on most days...just /tell @Urantia if I can help.

-Create a klingon character, buy a batleth, send it to your fed.

-Earn Marks of Valor and buy a purple batleth from the Omega fleet, which also comes with a [Borg] mod.

Yeah this is what I would mostly suggest if possible....just make a KDF character and buy one...or mail that KDF alt what they need to cap crafting and make your own stuff. I am always an advocate for relying on ones self...but if this is not possible it never hurts to ask a friend etc.

I'm still curious as to what happened with the vendors. Glad I got my bat'leth while the getting was good, but seems kinda odd that they took this particular vendor's inventory away.

I realized last night that, when attempting to get a melee weapon for one of my Boffs, that the only weapon available for me to craft was a lirpa. And if you can no longer purchase a bat'leth for a fed... then maybe they're trying to make more faction specific melee weaponry. Feds = Lirpa, Klingons = Bat'leth. The sword could go to anybody, really...

    Just an observation...

if you pvp melee a klingon you can get a Bat'leth but probably not the way you want it.

Redo Collesium. After you kill the big worm, go back into the holding area and grab a weapon from the rack. I got a green Bat'leth there.

But my main is currently rocking a purple MkX Borgified Bat'leth at the moment.

The Klink vendors on DS9 do not sell bat'leths anymore. :(

You can always roll a klink, buy a bat'leth from the vendors on Qo'nos then mail it to yourself. :)

Yes "Coliseum" is where you want to go at the moment for melee weapons.

The "hidden" rack has a chance at blue Bat'leths, Lirpas, Nasicaan swords and Tsunsomething falchions.
