it was probably considered an exploit bug, which is against the forum rules to post about it... in order to keep others from taking advantage of the public announcement. they always suggest that you make a bug report ticket about it in order to work more directly with them behind closed doors so to speak. its likely this will get locked as well, since posting about GM enforcements is also against the rules

That's probably the case, however, you can submit tickets and they never 'appear' to be looked at if you don't count the automated message. I've submit loads myself on a variety of things some more serious than others even to GM's about something I’d consider needing prompt action, nothing. When people resort to making a big enough fuss on the forums to get something done they’re punished. Yes they broke the rules but it’s ironic that the one’s committing offences in game get away with it and the people desperate to stop them are punished in the blink of an eye. That perception implies a lot of things on Cryptic’s part which I’ll not comment on though I will say it took others to point them out as I don’t tend to be more naive than some when it comes to certain things trying to see the best in things.

I do know one person who got so fed up trying to do STO and Cryptic a favour he went to the trouble of contacting the head of Cryptic or someone high up. Even then little was done in contrast to the huge effort to sort it out and the problem was still there last I checked and the guy couldn’t afford to sub anymore so isn’t around to police it anymore.

When it comes to giving feedback I really do feel it falls on deaf ears and so just don't bother as chances are Cryptic will do their own thing anyway or follow the majority (well whichever group kicks up enough fuss) and all the talk of "we really do listen" etc seems lost on me most of the time. I see some response to community feedback but it's very hit and miss and from my point of view it's always a miss.

If you report a bug, you'll get an automated reply from the system saying "Thanks, we recorded your report". This means: Your ticket text, your game screen along with the current UI have been received and QA will check out what you had to report.

What we do not and will not allow is discussion hacks, cheats or exploits on the forums.
You will not reach the Developers OR the QA that way. You WILL reach other players who "just want to try it out". And who will find getting banned from the game. "But it was on the forums, I wasn't USING it, I was just TESTING it" is a really sad thing to hear when you suspend someone from your service.

If you experience a bug - Report it.
If you feel the bug causes a very vital issue - Submit a Community Ticket with the Bug's Ticket number.

This thread is not the right way of doing it. :(
