This is a thought which i have pondered a lot on from an entirely different discussion.
And people, please keep the whole absurd T5 Miranda dicussions out of this thread.
So, basicly i find that a lot of ships in STO right now are being overused for NPC's.
We have far too many cruisers and battleships that can "easily" be popped by T1 ships.
What needs to be done IMO is for NPC ships to be restricted to their proper Tier & Level, and perhaps new varieties to be created to fill the lower gaps.
IMO one should not even be able to fight a Negh'var until one reaches level 41, and at least when it comes to Klingons there are A LOT of viable lower tier ships to fill the gaps like the K'tanco and D7.
If one does indeed end up fighting T5 ships in lower tiers then they should be like Boss ships and retain the full strenght and firepower that belongs to them.
So what good would this do?
Well it would add a lot of immersion to the PvE experience and add extra excitement(foremost to new players) when facing a new and more dangerous ship class, as well as add more consistency to the world of STO.
Because you have to admit, its pretty stupid having a Miranda or even a Saber pop a mighty battleship in a few seconds flat.
I would also say that the AI should be vastly improved as well giving all the NPC's access to more powers and chaining of powers, but that is a topic for another discussion.
It would be nice to get some consistency in NPC ship strength. With some ships not appearing at all until higher tiers.
I'd also like to see some mid level ships act as singleton bosses for low tier encounters and part of squadrons for high tier encounters (think borg spheres, or older klingon battlecruiser designs).
Well its never too late, since Cryptic has shown a willingness to revamp things, from sector space to ground combat, to exploration clusters to remastering old episodes.
Hell no. this thread was just made to justify the fight to have T1-2 Ships in T5. You can't fight my burning passion. I will blow up your warship with a T5 Little Ship when the time comes.

That's not even remotely similar to what the OP suggests.
But its a thread against it. OP is tired of Miranda's and Connies destroying Neghvars and borg cubes from the start of the game that he/she wants them to feel even more gimped.

If you have beef with the OP, deal with it in /tell.
However, what the OP is suggesting is that ships be broken into tiers so that a T1 can't take on a T5 vessel (which is almost the opposite of what you mentioned)

Nope, I am fine with t5 old ships, I wish things were more like SFC where there was a mass and power use rating to ships and parts as opposed to the artificial tactical/science/cruiser setup we have now.
But I always thought it was silly in a story sense to see so many capital ships early in the game and even more so that they blew up so easy.:):p
I WILL be getting a t5 Connie when they come out. The only people that care about the other guy's ship looking old are pvps that seem to think it matters if an "old" ship kills them.

And for Jem'Hadar fighters not to use SNB, but that's an argument for another time.

I'm super confused now.
So, you're against T1 & 2 ships being T5 but you're for T1 &2 ships destroying NPC T5 ships?
actually no, i didn't.
