Whats with decloaking now when you get a message ????

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Is this supposed to happen now ? (idiotic if so) a bug ? or a new setting somewhere ??

Whenever im cloaked, and get toa base or whatever where a message pops up I decloak as soon as the message box pops up.. really stupid on the defend base missions where right off im in the middle of the bad guys with a time down on my cloak.

C'mon Cryptic.. why is there always something ???????

Actually, this bug was introduced quite awhile ago, it's not a result of recent changes... That being said, it IS one of the most irritating and persistent bugs presently in-game... Makes Ker'rat a horrifying mess...

That's what I suspected, but, yes, it is incredibly frustrating, all the more so because it has been around now for quite awhile... Here's to hoping that it 'eventually' gets fixed...

Oh... I hear that Rift is quite good, by the way... ;)

and the worst part is this, they "fixed" the ship giving the Gal X a aft weapon and what not and they even said they made the cloak look better, not just the gal x but all cloak

And yet they do nothing about this. At least tell us this is going to be part of the normal game play and we will just be mad at you , right now you look inept. Do you want us to think you are incapable, ignorant or just so far removed from your player base you over looked this issue. This should have been done in one fix.

Im a lifer, I will play when I want too. When the bugs are fixed. I started playing to get the reman officer. dev you can see that by my play time. go ahead and look.

I will play to get the limited time only stuff, missed the breen oh well. maybe i can trade a proto type for one...how i see it, I wanted a delta flyer havent played in a long time and then bam there it is. to me it just happened, I havent been waiting around for it. I just dont play in the mean time. Im waiting for bug fixes and certain aspects before I will actually play.

Downloading rift atm of typing this :)

But yes this bug is annoying I had no knowledge of it myself before I started to level up my old klingon main to the cap again.

however some bugs are a lot harder to fix than others, often the small ones can take forever because no one can firegure out what is going wrong or why. Still a note of the matter that it is getting fixed is always welcome.

Makes the klingon dailys harder on elite as you cant surprise the enemy as you de-cloak

yea thats my main gripe.. makes playing my klink even less appealing ! :)

Im a lifer as well, and that kinda makes me wonder if Cryptic even listens to us lifers ?? they already have our money :)

Technically lifers are the least beneficial players in the game ... that is if the game survives for more than two years. We're just about in the middle now, so there's quite a good chance we might also see the second anniversary of STO. However, if that's really gunna happen, bugs like these just don't have room in this game. They need to be quickly taken care of, and everything else has to stand back for a day or two, INCLUDING C-store items which also we lifers DO buy (check my account, I've bought quite everything on the Fed side, I never play Klingon).

Currently we have three showstopper bugs. One was announced to have been fixed, but it was not. I am talking about the "Cutting The Cord" Hakeev superjump behavior. He still does it, I noticed no change ever since. Then we have the Undine Terradome respawn point that is missing, making lots of players grief and have to play an extra hour with mubs to kill to just be able to retry Sulu's ending part. And finally we have this decloaking bug which is really bad for PVP, specially for Klingons (and I do feel for you Klings out there, even though I never play there).

There might be more that I don't know of right now, butt anyway, these issues must be eliminated as soon as ever possible. I just don't come out of the impression that I'm actually BETA-testing a game that is on the market for over a year. And yes, I'm a lifer as well (*points at the user name color on the forum*). And since I'm the least beneficial user group, my opinion doesn't count too much.

I've posted a bug list and I even had a developer replying to it, ensuring me that they DO read such bug list collections and do their best to eliminate most of the bugs. Unfortunately, I've not seen too much action since then.

I probably shouldn't be mentioning this, but Test Drive Unlimited 2 is also a game distributed and supported by Atari, and guess what ... it's even worse when it comes to "finished things" in a published game. Check out www.tdu2.com if you wish, they have forums as well, and right now they're full of complaints ... serious and founded complaints. Not flaming, but detailed descriptions of missing features that were promised when the game came out, etc. And the servers there are even more instable and the STO ones. For the first two weeks right after release, barely anyone has had a chance to even enter the game. Now, at least there will be a mini-bonus for all who were griefing for weeks: Two free DLC cars. However, no release date so far, it might take a bit longer for those. ;)

Anyway, we're not in TDU2 here, but I wanted to give you some small insight about how Atari is treating paying gamers. It's not Cryptic, guys, they do their best and they're a small team and are under heavy pressure from Atari, forced to release unfinished games and content. TDU, TDU2, STO, Terminator: War Of The Machines ... and many more.

Cryptic has my full support. I just really wish they could have chosen another publisher than Atari. :(

(I have saved this post, as it might be removed soon, you never know. So if anyone wants to read the full version if it's not here anymore, feel free to PM me.)

Trouble is, thowing out fluff on the C Store is more important to them than fixing the REAL content such as Kerrat, STF's, serious bugs like this one and minor ones like the Transwarp to K7 icon not staying in the skills tray. They are actually talking about nuking Kerrat (the only source of open PvP in this game) rather than fixing it!

Lol, K-7 button disappears? Mine is not just K-7, butt also SB39 and DS9 sumtimes. Same with diplomacy handshake button etc. etc. :)

If Kerrat is nuked, there is no chance ever to get MK XII gear anymore, because even the DS9 fleet action is no more accessible for VA's.
