So the nu MVA is live 500emblems from ESD. I am not going to comment on why its 500 not 200 like the previous retro's were, we all know the answer to that.
What i was appauled at was the increase from 200marks to 500 on the Excelsior, Vulcan ship and other retros. Why did theese increase by 150% cost thas pure evil for thoose of us who were savin!
Maybe its jus me but i like to earn my starship/rewards from achivements ingame, not from the job i do in RL. So many ingame features aimed at your wallet and not as any reward for play... it doesnt encourage dedication when my gaming resources r a reflection of my income, not my effort and abilty ingame.
The increase in price jus screams "we dont want you to earn this, we want you to buy it" and with 90% of revenue not going bak into the game...
Actually, I feel this is a smart move on the part of Cryptic. As it stands, the game out of the box contains all the tools and content you need to enjoy yourself as an early 25th century starship captain. However, if you feel the need to indulge your vanity by, say, wearing an out-of-date uniform from the show, or by owning multiple specialized retrofits of classic ships when credit-purchasable ships are more than adequate for the needs of most players, or by simply wanting fancy new bridges/emotes/pets whatever, then you have to pay.
I don't credit any ill will to Cryptic for making these decisions. Just keeping the game running as it is is expensive, never mind adding new content. Why begrudge them making a little extra money, especially since we've all proven we're more than willing to pay for this content?

Grumble fest!!!
The only ship that ever cost 200 marks was the Nebula.
No other ships "ever" did.

"Three more months of grinding or coughing up what is technically less than my monthly fee"
pretty much
cryptic and atari make more money if you buy them from the cstore
While I have something like 4000 cryptic points, I only want this on my TAC. So I'm saving my emblems. 300 left to go!
good luck
