Can you guys PLEASE get rid of that glowing gas cloud you have to fight in, when taking on the dreadnoughts. It slows a lot of rigs down to a crawl..even good ones. Furthermore, you can't see anything.

There is no reason for it.

Please.. just let us see what we are fighting.

I dont know whose "bright" idea was to put a glowly cloud so the can roast your CPU and give you fits, but its quite evident they never bothered to play it through once themselves.

I've heard you can turn off "bloom" or some other effect setting in the video settings to make the cloud go away. I need to figure out if that's possible, because it's literally impossible to control anything when I enter that area. As soon as I'm in the cloud my camera starts whipping around constantly 200 to 300 degrees in every direction, and my view of everything arond is reduced to a 1 FPS slide show of what was happening ten seconds ago.

I so agree. I turned my settings down very low and it still slowed my computer to a crawl. it needs to go go go

Absolutely - particularly considering that the primary objective is on a timer. Getting roasted by the Keldon because the CPU's slowed to a crawl, then losing the mission because of the same is a pain in the backside.

Adding my support for this. I thought my bloom settings had gone crazy, but shutting it off didn't do much -- still a blinding white/yellow that prevents me from seeing anything (and seems to drag down the framerate/spin up my computer's fans to max speed).

Any chance of this ever getting addressed?

I am glad it is not just me.

I have no lag issues any place in the game... except this ONE PART.

It literally turns into a blinding yellow slide show with target boxes.

Now.. if we can just get a dev response.

Actually the worst thing which can happen is if you are in a nearly full FA in the middle of combat and some... not so wise human being activates his Tachyon Detection Grid. I never had any problems in the game with my machine not even in the FA except this one time :(

So some change might be needed... less dust or whatever it is that makes it so bright.

THIS, THIS and THIS. The effect really is out of control.

I agree, it's annoyed me as well.

Hopefully this would be included as part of the Fleet Action revamps that was mentioned recently.

It wouldn't break my heart to see it go, even with a pretty good system it still causes me slowdown. Before upgrading I had to go to 1/2 resolution to have it be moderately playable. Even now I can feel my GPU straining under the load.

I think you're talking about the wrong mission. No Keldons in Klingon Scout Force, and I don't think any objectives are on a timer. If you're getting slowdown on that mission, I pity you if you ever do do the scout force.

On topic: I don't get any slowdown in there, but I can't see **** except the occasional tractor beam.

Agreed, it's one of the reasons I stopped using my laptop to play STO. Even on lowest settings the frame rates are horrible, you have to lure the ships out of the cloud to even be able to see them. Which is ironic because you can see them just fine when you're coming up to them.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. I really hope they do something about it.

You aren't the only one, sir. I like the fleet action quite a lot until we get to that stage, then I have to put on my sunglasses and squint in order to see anything at all.

So no love from the devs on this yet? Come on, leave those "open jacket" threads alone for 2 secs and give us the thumps up (and some UV protection).

    :p
