Well the featured series 3 was alot of fun, but with that over it will now be several months before Season 4 and Cryptic has said that the next featured series probably wont be coming out until then as well. That means we're in for several months of no new official content except for C-store updates. What do you play to do to stay busy and entertained during the Great Content Drought?

Huh, I thought I read they were going to get a 4th series out before Season 4.
Finish leveling my Tactical and Science characters while randomly playing a Klingon. Then get enough credits, Emblems, marks, etc to deck out them... yeah, got plenty to do for now. My plan is to eventually have four Federation characters and for Klingons. I'm kind of a purist *Engineer in Crusier, Tactical in Escort and so on.* so I want to do that with both factions... and any other faction they eventually release.
This is going to be a really tough spell for STO. I hope Cryptic has something planned to keep people subscribed. I know they mentioned having "reruns" of featured series, but considering people can already replay those missions any time they want and the only people who dont have the special reward are those who were not playing at the time, that wont really be anything special to most people. I just hope the Foundry comes out soon and that enough people find it as awesome as I do.
Well so far I leveled up my klingon to max again, still believing that my BOP is quite powerfull
Beside that I poke some in the foundry and once it goes live and I have time, I am going to create a whole bunch of Story focussed missions Plenty of ideas ready.
I was just going to start a thread about this today.
I really enjoy this game but I'm thinking of canceling my sub for a few months since there really won't be anything new to do for a while.
That said, are Klingons worth playing now or no?
Klingons now have the following things that they did not have at launch:
1) Star clusters
2) 8 KDF episodes
3) Featured Episodes(currently 3 seasons for a total of 15 episodes)
4) crafting
5) 4 KDF daily patrols
6) several fleet actions
Also, the Foundry is supposed to be coming out this month, although it has already been delayed several times so theres really no telling when that will actually happen. Anyway, there are alot of options now that you did not previously have.
I was, as many of you were, quite shocked when I read the most recent ask cryptic and found out that, aside from featured episodes, there would be no new content added.
My big fear is that they are under the impression that the Foundry will eliminate their need to wrap up the four fronts and their story lines.
How many cliffhangers are we expected to be involved in here?
I suspect the plan is to release the Foundry, and regardless of arguments (that I generally agree with) that player made content is not a substitute for professional content...the Foundry is a lot of fun. And its definitely more fun than any of the various 'time-sinks' that other MMO's use to keep subscribers around between patches.

They have actually suggested(though not "confirmed") that the next FE series will probably be after Season 4.
Me, I'm unsubscribing for a few months to see how things go. Cryptic still gets my money because I just started playing CO and I'm hooked. But I just haven't been logging in to STO often enough to justify to myself spending the money on the sub.
Better that they take the time to do the things they need to do now, rather than wait. Season 4 should be out in time for summer. That will give us the summer to play with it. Delaying it for a series (since we can't have both) would be a bad idea, imo.
I'm hacking away at Foundry episodes. There is an almost limitless supply of missions to try on Tribble NOW! There is no need or reason to wait for anything...
Transfer your latest character and try some missions. If you are the creative type now is the perfect time to start learning the Foundry Toolset before it goes live to Holodeck. Try StarbaseUGC.com for tutorials and the chat room always has some talented Foundry authors hanging out to help you with questions and problems...
To the Naysayers that think the Foundry can't measure up... I say put your money where your mouth is and try some missions or make your own... at least you can give us your opinion as to why you don't like a mission and they can be improved.
The authors of Foundry missions need players to try their missions and provide feedback and opinions and players need content... We need to put these two elements together and get more content of a good quality for everyone.
i'm going to level some alts, build up some crafting supplies, i've already started trying pvp (absolutly suck on the ground, cos of my team mates just dieing and not resing all the time, grrrrr) (Grrr)
and i might even try to finaly finish a STF, got to the last boss on infected half a dozen times just to watch the group disband because it took too long
so yeh the content drought is rly just a chance to actualy play the existing content (sorry klinks , i know they are better, i have a BG and 2 low lvl alts, but its nothing like the lvl of fed content)
They do have some of the best ships (hugs my Bird-of-Prey) and PvE missions in the game though (and they get a nifty purple bat'leth as a reward for one of their later missions). You've just got to suffer through the grindy droughts between unique content to enjoy that stuff though.

I'm leveling 4 new characters. Vulcan engineer for the D'Kyr, Andorian scientist for the Andorian escort, Orion tactical for the Marauder patrol cruiser and a Trill scientist for the Vor'cha. At the moment the Vulcan is commander 2, the Andorian lieutenant-commander 2, the Orion lieutenant-commander 5 and the Trill lieutenant 8. So I still have a lot to do.:D

try mine own wargame, the story's a bit weak but its a fairly good mission.

But in answer to your specific question... The same as I do every night... Plan to take over the world.
Brilliant Brain! Narf!

And how about some new endgame content?
This. Or some PvP ranking.
The logic behind remastering older 1000x seen episodes goes beyond me.

The only thing we can do to 'survive' this is the foundry.

For PvE? Still very content light.
