Dan!

Devs!

Do you realize that you've made the tech for the dreaded THOLIAN WEB????

You have! You have!

Just take the cloaked tractor mines, throw in a dispersal pattern or two, and apply a modified tachyon detection grid FX and BOOM!

THOLIAN WEB

And now that we've seen animation tech for Talarian Hook Spiders and Glikar'ma Ice Spiders the time is right!!!!!

The time is now!!!!!!

BRING FORTH THE THOLIANS!!!!!!!!:D

... and make them *hard*... super fracking hard. So hard that the QQ will rain on this forum for months. So hard that the CE would look like a cake walk in comparison.

There's a reason that those little buggers have been left alone. They're too bad to be messed with...

I'm looking forward to the Tholians also. In fact I was shocked that they were not in the game to begin with.

Tholian Web throws us back in time to the Enterprise era. We already have the tech for that too.

I'm with you all the way on this one. Obviously, I can't wait for the Tholian feature episode series. Engaging in combat with the Tholians is going to be a dream come true. But they should be difficult to defeat... very difficult. They should pose a true challenge, earn their reputation as powerful and mysterious enemies. Starfleet has fought extended conflicts with the Tholians and yet they remain feared and elusive. The average player should walk away from this feature episode series with the same feelings towards them.

Oh, and as for the Breen cryo tech? It would be positively brilliant to give the Tholians such a vulnerability. Not only does it make scientific sense given their unique biology but it would link two of Star Trek Online's feature episode series in an interesting way. Fight the Breen in Deferi space to gain their tech, stock up on cryo grenades and CRM 200s, then ready yourself for battle with the Tholians!

This feature episode series can't launch soon enough.

I just made a thread last week in this sub board asking that the Taurus Reach be made a sector block/Tholian Space and add the Vanguard station (see Vanguard, Tholians, and the Taurus Reach). It got little attention. I would like Tholians in the game, due in large part to the Vanguard books.

Good points about the foundation being laid for them.

I agree, bring on the Tholians. I'd like to see how the evolved over the years since we last saw them in TOS. I know they showed up in soft canon off and on. But still.. Bring them on

I intend to play "predator" with them... i'll skin them and make myself a nice outfit made from 100% Tholian Silk.

Ah, Tholian Silk. No one knows just where it comes from, do they? Certainly not from the hides of Tholians, though, I'd say. Good luck skinning a silicon-based lifeform that's crystalline in nature! Hmmm... But Tholian Silk might prove valuable as an item, perhaps? Or in crafting? With craftable Horta on the way, might Star Trek Online further explore potential links between the Tholians and the Horta?

I think one of the reasons the Tholians (and by extension, the Sheliak and Horta) intrigue me so much is that they represent a *true* alien compared to the 'normal' Star Trek humanoid. Kestrel could have a field-day with coming up with a good story for them. I hope she's been hard-at-work at it.

There definitely needs to be more non humanoids. I would like to have Triexian crewmen.
