In my time in STO, ive seen all the usuals.
Humans, Klingons, Vulcans etc. These are all good and fun races, but imho, Id liek to see more variety!
So, what species would you all like to see more of?
Personally I want to see more Tellarites and Rigelians. My main is a rigelian, and I like the species. Sadly they seem to be underplayed (Probably because of their looks).
This can be a Federation or a Klingon question ^^

On a game related note, I look forward to what storeis and perspective the Romulan faction will bring to the game.
I could also imagine more stuff about the Gorn, Orion and Nausicaans. They are player species, yet all STO has of them are character models and some ships. The friggin' Deferi have more substance than them, which is really, really sad.
I could perfectly imagine a weekly series dealing with a resistance movement on the Gorn homeworld where Starfleet Security is secretly providing aid to rebels by supplying them with smuggled weapons. Or a pirate war in the Triangle where both the Federation (represented by Section 31) as well as the Klingon Empire (represented by the Orions) ally with some privateer groups to wage a proxy conflict over some strategic resource.
Other than that ... I have to say that there sadly aren't really any true minor factions in Trek - aside from some interesting races in Voyager that are, however, out of reach for STO. 99% of all races in the Alpha/Beta Quadrants are either a major faction or an "alien of the week" whose species is a firm part of one of the major factions, their most distinctive feature being a slightly different skin colour or a different nose.
I think the Lethean, Nausicaan, Orion and Gorn definitely deserve their own storylines now. As a previous poster stated - they are player species, and yet we know next to nothing about them.
You can never have enough Orions....:o
Only because they (the one we see, rather) were used as a plot progression tool in DS9 are my flak cannons armed
my vote: Undine.
I have this crazy theory/idea that Undine are a highly evolved and actualized immune system response since fluidic space is composed of (what seems entirely) organic matter. Since the Borg tried taking over fluidic space, the fludic space antibodies - the Undine - have been hyper-activated and seeking out potential virii and destroying them. The Undine, in my mind, are a highly sophisticated and natural cellular process in a much, much greater living organism.
Indeed, Cardassians are my 2nd favorite aside from Romulans. I almost like Cardassians more..but something about Romulan ships puts them a little ahead.
dam right it would... one pilot... hmmm... I think the Undine could throw some chairs on their bridge and tell your Bo's to make it look like their doing something.
Undine too... They kinda get chumped out in STO.
For example, I would love to see more content based around the Tellerites and the Andorians, perhaps an old rivalry flaring up again? But then, how does one include the KDF in such things?
Or maybe a conflict between a rogue group of Ferengi (who dislike Roms reforms) and the Orion syndicate? The Federation wants to bring the rogues back into the fold, while the KDF wants to support the Orions?
Or maybe a conflict between the Cardassians and a group of telepathic Lethean thieves? The Federation want's to bring them to justice, while the KDF wants to bring them in for "questioning" to see if they telepathically gleaned any useful tactical information while they were in Cardassian space?
Amar Singh himself may be in custody (and his escape may be a crucial component of the yet-unreleased Children of Khan STF), however, we couldn't have gotten all of his augment experiment subjects in The Ultimate Klingon. Maybe a Featured episode in the Pi Canis sector block about Augments stealing an experimental testbed ship? (Helloooo Oberth!) And the chaos they cause afterward? Ending with their disappearance via a perfected Quantum slipstream drive?
That would leave them open to come back and effect the jail-break of Singh, and leave any work on Children of Kahn unsullied.
The "proper" species are plenty fleshed out. The Letheans really need some love, and fortunately, based on a little chat I've had with Dstahl, will be getting some down the road. Also, the lack of canon fluff is EXACTLY why they need it. Soft canon or no, I'd like to see the Letheans with more fluff.
Letheans aside, some more Nausicaan and Gorn-themed content would be great, maybe some stuff that takes place on Gorn or Nausicaa
And of course, more Breen
Maybe if the Dominion were to become a threat again the Klingons and the Federation would reconcile and the KDF could have access to the Starfleet missions from the Romulans onwards to give them some content or at least a good way to level. Although that would mean they would have to come up with a new way to implement PVP so it would require some thought.
Yes. I am a full on Talaxian Supporter.
Id really like to see the Alien race from Star Trek: Insurrection. If I remember correctly they were to become members of the Federation soon.
