Stahl and Devs - A shuttle concern

Earlier today I decided to run through The Vault with my new Captain's Yacht. I set the ship as my default and then clicked on my mini-map down arrow to visit the bridge so I could go to my ready room and accept the mission replay.

Obviously I did this without thinking since shuttles do not have an interior. Luckily I was still in the shipyard and I switched to my regular ship, did what I had to, switched back and went on my way.

It occurred to me though that if shuttle use is going to continue growing we'll need some sort of interior for them. I understand the problem of a shuttle interior from a design perspective, which is why you haven't implemented them yet. However, we cannot access mission replay through our shuttles. If I am doing a new shuttle mission and then decide to replay an old one I'll have to return to a station where I can switch to my regular ship, then visit the bridge, etc.

What I would like to suggest is creating a standard shuttle interior that will be used by all shuttles that has the mission replay console. It just needs to be one room, that looks like a cockpit. It doesn't need to be to scale, and can be a place holder for future interiors that are more accurate. The main use for it so to access the mission replay console.

I cannot speak for the rest of the community, but I would be perfectly happy with this until you can create the proper interiors.

I look forward to hearing the feedback of the community and any dev that wishes to jump in.

    I could possibly accept this, on the optiont hat propper shuttle interios will come and I stand by my worth a to scale full captain's yacht interior is something i would drop 5000 tokens on whitout thinking. I love that ship so much.

    shoot, I'd still be happy with just some kind of interior. There are more important things for the devs to be working on than perfect shuttle interiors, but something just to make it bare-able so that you could do the mission replay right.

    the fun thing about importance is that the matter of how important something is, differs quite a bit from person to person.

    For me for example the importance of a new STF would be about zero, while a new pvp setting would be about 10. Captain yacht interior would be around 8.

    However majority vote of the community would no doubt disagree with me.

    I agree with you that Captain's Yacht interior is important. I think its great and I'm sure others who have it would want an interior for it as well.

    On the other hand I don't want them to rush it and put something out that doesn't look right, nor would I want them to postpone something else more important for the sake of creating an interior for just the yacht.

    I feel that a common interior as a place holder is a decent compromise. Even if that interior gets dropped and never seen again once proper ones are released.

    They always keep it as an selectable option.

    But I also do not want it to be rushed, the yacht looks awesome interior should be at the same level or higher. Beside they will need to work on their camera trouble to get it in game anyway. I do not want under any conditions have an oversized interior (official one, place holder may be oversized) It should be to scale, end of story.

    makes me wish though I was good at art or had the money to hire people who are good at it to make it :)

    I agree here, sometime for the time being just to have the basic mission replay would be nice. I wouldn't mind the scale being wrong for sake of use with the idea of rescaling and better interiors later. I feel that the main ship interiors were rushed and that's why they have almost no use at all, so even as of right now a shuttle interior that just has that one option would be better than nothing imo. But honestly I hope that if Season 4 doesn't address the issue of interiors, which I don't believe it will, I hope that Season 5 will. And with that maybe we'll see some love with both ship interiors and shuttle interiors. Just my thoughts on it anyways.

    Stahl mentioned the may do a HUD change to shuttles where it acted as FP or it was something like that.

    He said the problem with shuttle interiors was both the size for some, but also the amount of unique interiors they would need to make.

    I remember hearing reading that. Honestly FP should be optional, I prefer seeing my shuttle in flight.

    I understand where the size comes into play. The shuttles on the shows were designed for the cast, so they didn't need to be high. In this game we have characters that are 10 feet tall, so the height of the interior would obviously need to be higher, but it goes against canon.

    Really my only purpose of this thread is to get mission replay to work with shuttles, which is why I really don't care how the interior is done.

    I agree that it has annoyed me everytime I do the Vault because I always wanted to run it twice so I'd have a set of Scorpions ready to accept when the first one's ran out. However, since they have already said they want to have a shuttle bay on our ship to take off with shuttles. That will solve this issue, so there is no point in them wasting time adding a shuttle interior that will be too small to do anything meaningful in anyway.

    Coming someday...hopefully soon...it'll just be back to the nearby ship, back to ready room, back to shuttle bay and gone again.

    I heard about that, but I still think I would like to have shuttle interiors. I'm assuming when that feature comes we'll still be able to choose a shuttle from a ship selector like at ESD and fly only our shuttle. Basically the same way it is now, except there will be the additional option of the shuttle bay on our ships.
