About this selling Atari tokens for EC.

Few days back there was this tread about people selling Atari tokens for EC seeing you can gift tokens these days. Question was whether or not it was allowed and the general answer was "no"

However I am thinking that it should be allowed in a certain form for the following 3 reasons.

*It will generate cryptic more money (always a nice thing for them)
*It will give people who do not have big pockets out of game a way to access many things they otherwise could not have gotten their hands on.
*It gives people who do not want to spend their time on EC farming a way to get them.

Also it will be a bit fluctuating price wise at start, but give it a month or two and it will stable out, it will also not create a huge market as there is simply only that much people can spend Atari tokens on.

As for a system it is quite simple working from the way in game currency is easy to refund than real money a transaction should go according to these rules.

*Seller and buyer agree on price and amount, by in game mail example:

buyer tokens:

Al right so I buy 1000 tokens from you for 1mil EC

Seller tokens:

Alright 1000 tokens for 1mil EC, confirm and send me the EC, within 1 hour you have your tokens.

Buyer tokens:

Confirmed and EC send

*send seller 1mil EC*

Seller:

EC received buying tokens for you now.

*buys tokens within an hour*

*Token have to be send in 1 hour, if not possible seller should refund EC, if not done seller will be banned buyer gets EC back.
*In game mails must be kept for 30 days and no deleted in case of investigation is required, if scam is happening player should report within 24 hours with time table of the trade.

Only thing that would be needed for this is a way to send EC from 1 person to the other, beside that it is water tight and those who scam loose their monies and account making a scam not very attractive and the EC can be traced if send away and taken back.

Best would ofcourse be a secure system like the EVE GTC trade system, but that would require a whole lot more work.

Other suggestion:
This gets my 'for what it's worth' vote.

I still think in-game Virtual Token Cards would be the best solution though. That way everything apart from creation and conversion will use existing mechanics.

Anyway that is my idea/view on this, I support cryptic with the C-store myself, but there is only that much I can buy (and I got pretty much everything save for the races and the klingon ships) Also I suck at farming EC badly :P

Your response will be a big 'no' no matter how you try to justify it.

Creating a black market for in-game items for real world currency is not cool.

Great idea, will add that one if you do not mind.

Black Markets already exist. This would legitimize them.

I don't mind at all, although CCP may claim prior art! ;)

Guys, this isn't going to happen any time soon. So please, let's move on to another topic.

    Thanks,
